As many of you have heard, there was an EHV/EHM outbreak at the WPRA World Finals in Waco,TX.

Since we have not had any exposed horses on our premises, we will still be seeing equine patients at our facility.

To avoid the spread of misinformation, please rely only on trusted sources like State Veterinarian reports. We understand that this is a scary time in the equine community, but we urge you not to panic. We are strongly advising people to stay home and avoid traveling to rodeos and horse shows.

We will post updates and important information in the comments of this post.

Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone and their horses affected by this event.

Happy National Veterinary Technician Week!
Last, but most certainly not least on our team is:

Rebekah Williamson
Nicknames: Bekah, Bekah-Boo
What’s your favorite subset of veterinary medicine?: My favorite subset of veterinary medicine would be dental surgery. It is one of my favorites because it has a broad range of procedures to fix oral issues. Whether that be a simple routine teeth cleaning, or extractions of bad teeth, operations like tumor removals, jaw repairs, and gingivoplasty!

Rebekah is always willing to learn! We absolutely adore how much she is always trying to expand her knowledge in such a broad range of subjects. She absolutely lights up the clinic with her laugh!

Share a time Rebekah made you smile, or show her some appreciation in the comments!

Happy National Veterinary Technician Week! This gal needs no introduction!

Barbara Kissel
Nickname: Cookie, Barbara Jean
What’s your favorite subset of veterinary medicine?: My favorite vet med thing is small ruminant emergencies and any cat appointments. I like small ruminant emergencies because it allows me to learn more about them. Cats because I like them!

Barbara is in fact our resident cat whisperer! Barbara wears so many hats at the clinic and we are especially grateful to have her. She always makes every client feel right at home at the clinic! From the moment you call in to make an appointment, to when you walk out the door, you are sure to notice her warm smile!

Share a fond story about Barbara down in the comments, or show her some appreciation!

Happy National Veterinary Technician Week! Today’s technician shoutout is…

Ally Taylor
Nickname: AT, Allysaaaaa (usually shouted by Dr. Dickey from across the clinic)
What’s your favorite subset of veterinary medicine?: It’s no secret that large animal medicine has my heart! Recently, I’ve taken to reproductive medicine and embryo work. I absolutely love embryo collections and think that the work is fascinating!

Ally is definitely a go-getter with a can-do attitude. This gal handles everything from taking care of critters, to invoices, to inventory, to management, and a little bit of everything in between. If you ask her to do it, she’ll get it done, and we couldn’t do it without her!

Feel free to share a story about a time when Ally made you smile, or show her some appreciation in the comments!

Happy National Veterinary Technician Week! Our technicians do so much for us, from keeping our clinics (and doctors) in order, to caring for your critters with the utmost compassion. Each day of this week, we will introduce to you one of our beloved technicians, and share some special things about them.

Gracie Teson
Nickname: Gracie-Poo
What’s your favorite subset of veterinary medicine?: My favorite specialty of veterinary medicine has got to be large animal trauma because I love the intensity of it. I love the feeling of accomplishment once they are recovered. Give me a good ol’ horse laceration or emergency bovine/equine surgery and I’m a happy gal!

One thing that we absolutely adore about Gracie is her heart. She is incredibly caring about both our patients and their owners. She never fails to make us all smile after a hard day.

Feel free to share your favorite stories about these girls, or show them some appreciation in the comments this week!

As many of you know, this is the time of year that we get busy! During the fall months, we spend much of our time out on ranch calls working with cattle. Due to this, our availability to see appointments in office is limited.

We ask you kindly to please be patient with us during this time of year. Understand that we will offer you the soonest appointment time that we have available.

Our Thermopolis clinic (Owl Creek Veterinary Service - Thermopolis) typically has more availability this time of the year. We can schedule an appointment for you at that location if you’d prefer to be seen as soon as possible. To reach their office directly, please call 307-867-2600.
