🐾 Important Health Update for Our Boarding & Bath Clients 🐾

Beginning January 1, 2026, all canine boarding and bath patients will be required to be up to date on the leptospirosis (lepto) vaccination.

What this means:
• If your dog has never received the leptospirosis vaccine, it is given as a two-part series, with doses administered 2–3 weeks apart.
• After the initial series, the vaccine must be boosted annually.
• If there is a lapse in vaccination, the two-dose series will be required again.

We are implementing this requirement due to a significant increase in leptospirosis cases in our area. This policy helps us protect the health and safety of all pets in our care during their stay with us.

🎆 Fireworks can be scary for pets!
If your dog struggles with noise anxiety, please call us as soon as possible to request medication or a refill of a prescription you already have to help keep them calm.

📅 We will be closed New Year’s Day and will reopen Friday, January 2nd.

Dr. Young did 8 puppy health certificates today—just in time for these sweet babies to head home and join their new families for Christmas!

So, what exactly is a health certificate?
A puppy health certificate is an official document completed by a veterinarian after a full nose-to-tail exam. It confirms that the puppy is healthy, free from signs of illness or contagious disease, and up to date on age-appropriate care at the time of the visit. It gives new families peace of mind and helps ensure every puppy starts their new life safe, healthy, and happy.

📍 West Melbourne Update!

We’re excited to share some progress on our newest West Melbourne location! In November, we officially applied for our permits, which allowed us to move forward with construction right up until our first inspection.

True to their word, we were told we’d start seeing movement in the first week of December—and they did not disappoint! 🙌

Things are officially in motion, and we can’t wait to keep you all updated as we get closer to opening our doors. Thank you for being part of this journey with us!

We had such a fun staff meeting yesterday! 🎉
Every December we switch things up with a special team-building activity and a holiday potluck (a little different from our usual monthly educational meetings). This year, our committee surprised us with our very own game of Jeopardy! 🤩

The categories did not disappoint — we tested our knowledge on Dogs, Cats, AMC History, AMC Doctors, and even Disney Animals. Lots of laughs, friendly competition, and maybe a few questionable answers made it extra memorable!

And we can’t forget to congratulate The Nutty Nutcrackers, who took the win! 🏆👏

Of course, the potluck spread was fantastic. Our team brought some seriously impressive dishes — we’re as talented in the kitchen as we are in the clinic! 🍽️🐾

Feeling grateful for such a fun, dedicated team. ❤️ Here’s to keeping our traditions alive and ending the year with great food and even better company!

🎉 Meet Dr. Kristy Archer!
Born and raised in Cary, NC, Dr. Archer once dreamed of playing basketball for North Carolina State University — and she then followed that ambition to the same school’s College of Veterinary Medicine. “As a kid, I was always drawn to animals,” she shares, reflecting on how even at two years old she was befriending llamas at the petting zoo.
