Poor Tom, he is our FIV+ boy that was trapped where he was living at a factory, he had pneumonia (complete with foul smelling green nasal discharge) and a nasty laceration to a back leg.
He recovered fabulously and was vaccinated, neutered, wormed and on flea and tick preventative.
He has gone from 8 # to 14.5 #.
He is the sweetest most mellow fellow!!
Loves being brushed, scratched and just hanging out with people❤️
Despite all of his amazing loving qualities and the latest research showing FIV+ cats can live with FIV- cats and live long healthy lives, he’s had zero interest in the months he’s been with us:(
He has also started having this skin issue on his face, scraping initially showed inflammation and infection, so we did a strong injectable antibiotic and cleansed with antimicrobial cleanser and applied ointment.
It seemed to begin to resolve, then it rebounded and it’s slowly spreading.
It doesn’t seem to bother him, no scratching or rubbing, it’s not bleeding or open more scaly etc.
He goes back to see Dr Housing at T&C Animal clinic tomorrow at 2 pm.
****We could use some help with the bill, or even better Tom could use a medical sponsor!! Can’t adopt or foster or worried about his FIV+ status BUT want to help, then you can SPONSOR Tom:)❤️******
