FYI. If you find a juvenile bird in distress. Please please do not just leave it in your yard to die! This little one was found and was told by a rescue due to bird flu just to leave it. We haven’t had any reported cases in our county that I know of. I don’t normally take in birds because of my work schedule I can’t properly care for them. But I couldn’t see anything just left on the ground. Well when they got here what was supposed to be a red bellied woodpecker turned into an endangered pileated woodpecker. It has meds and will rest in the incubator over night. Tomorrow I will take it to Florida Wildlife Hospital. I talked to them and they are accepting birds so if you find an injured one please take it to them. Thank you and please share so that people know they have an option

We have had 2 major medical kitties and we need your help! Otto was found in a busy intersection recently hit by a car. Luckily, our director found him and brought him to a vet. Otto had a broken femur, pelvis, and tail. The cost to repair locally was more than the rescue could spend. Thankfully to our friend, Mona at PAWS, she found a surgeon down south that did the repair for a fraction of the cost. Otto's bill is currently $1400, and he will still need postop x-rays. And for those of you that remember Edna, she is having her eye surgery this Thursday. She has no vision out of the left eye, and it is best if removed. This litter are pit/lab mixes. There’s 3 boys and 1 girl. These puppies will be foster to adopt due to their age. They will be vaccinated, spay/neutered, and microchipped. More information and an application is available at SVPR.rescuegroups.org.

It’s time to get the stray kitties fixed for free before kitten season picks up. Spays and neuters are being offered at Brevard Spay-neuter clinic in Palm Bay and the Brevard Humane Society in Cocoa by the Daphne foundation. Please call for an appointment!

New Year, and new puppies!🐶 Anyone interested in helping foster some puppies? There’s 3 females that are between 18-20 pounds and are 3 months old. There’s also a 3 month old
male beagle. All food, toys, and kennel will be provided while fostering. Commitment would probably be 2-3 weeks. If you’re interested just let me know, and I’ll reach out and talk specifics. Thank you.

Thank you to everyone that donated to Edna's care. She is adjusting well and is beyond a sweet kitty. We will know more after her ophthalmologist appointment on Wednesday. She does have some vision, but it's limited. She's currently on daily serum and Terramycin. Thank you for helping Suntree-Viera Pet Rescue and Edna.

Meet Edna! Edna was just rescued from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Animal Rescue. Edna is roughly 10 years old. She has generalized alopecia, and both eyes have severe corneal edemas which have caused her to become blind. Edna has an appointment to evaluate the severity of her eye damage at Veterinary Eye Institute Orlando. The initial consultation appointment is $195, and an eye enuculation is $1300.
