He attended the National University of Colombia and graduated as a Veterinarian in 1992. Few months after graduation he emigrated to the United States looking for better opportunities. He worked as a veterinary assistant at South Broward Animal Hospital, Sadowsky Animal Hospital and Hollywood Animal Hospital and obtained his American DVM license in 1997. Dr Rubio has been married for 15 years, has three children and a spoiled cat named "Flower". In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, reading and traveling.
