Sweet beautiful Indie is celebrating her freedom today. She can now see. She's safe and dry. Her story didn't start out that way, one of our staff members found her in her neighborhood, upon taking the necessary steps to find who she belonged to she brought her into the shelter. Indie had only 40% of her vision. A plan was made and Indie had cataract surgery. Indie's vision was restored and now she's ready for adoption. Her future may include daily eye drops so her adopter will need to consider if that fits into their lifestyle. Indie is available to interview her potential adopter Wednesday-Friday 12-3 Saturday 12-4 and Sunday 12-3. Our address is 2600 Otter Creek Lane Melbourne.

Starling is finished being in her mom era she had her kids and now she's ready for post mom life. She wants a home of her own where someone will chat with her. This petite, vocal girl is mom to Crowe and Grackle but she wants her own nest and all the focus to be on her. Can't resist those eyes?? Come meet her at the shelter at 2600 Otter Creek Lane Melbourne Wednesday-Friday 12-3 Saturday 12-4 and Sunday 12-3.

These girls (and their mom) started out hissy and spitty. That doesn't ever last long. They have already had their spay surgery and will celebrate the independence of never having children. They'll be ready for adoption later this month. Say hello to Crowe and Grackle.

Remember this guy? Ozzy? He's still here, waiting for his forever family to come get him. Ozzy is still technically a kitten(10 months old) but he is an active adult looking cat nowadays. He is definitely someone that needs lots of enrichment. Set it and forget it? Not Ozzy. Cat TV? Enrichment toys? Catio? That's a start! Ozzy would also make a good shop cat. He has met a dog and couldn't care less (said dog didn't bring treats so what's there to care about really?) Ozzy needs an adult-only environment; he's more dog than lap cat. He could demonstrate the newest WWE move for you or show you the proper way to hunt for squirrels, climb a tree, and show off his acrocat moves. Always wanted a cat you could harness train and walk around the neighborhood with? Ozzy might be the one! We'll be open again starting Wednesday if you're interested in meeting Ozzy, stop in from 12-3 Wednesday - Friday, Saturday 12-4 and Sunday 12-3.

Senior Sunday highlights Agnus. Agnus is our oldest cat here at HSSB. Agnus was brought to us when her human crossed the bridge and she was brought to the vet to be euthanized. That was until HSSB stepped in. Agnus still has plenty of life. She is currently in foster care with one of our amazing volunteers. Since being in foster care we have learned a few things we didn't know. Agnus is a big fan of blankets and prefers sleeping under rather than on top of them. She is a polite house guest and doesn't kick the litter out of the litter box. While she has once demonstrated her capability of jumping on the dinner table, she was reminded that she is a guest and that's not something a polite guest would do. She has also demonstrated her flexibility and will do celebratory zoomies after a littebox session. She does appreciate her 16 hours of nap time as does anyone self respecting feline and insists her home be hers only. She doesn't want to share her humans. She is very vocal and when not napping she does appreciate a significant amount of pets (which could fluctuate from time to time depending on how much time she's spent napping). If you think you could provide a home that meets if not exceeds Agnus's standards, please let us know. We're open Wednesday-Friday 12-3 Saturday 12-4 and Sunday 12-3, we can be reached via messenger for by phone at 321.259.0601.

To those of you who came out and supported us again last night at our Dine to Donate Texas Roadhouse fundraiser, thank you, again, for always being there for us. The money raised will help us support a litter of kittens (currently in foster care) who are experiencing a range of medical issues. Watch out for more fundraisers!
