We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of dedicated Melrose dog-owners who are proud to have helped establish Melrose's own fenced, off-leash recreation area for dogs and their owners. The dog park is located near the Knoll at Ell Pond, off Lynn Fells Parkway, across the street from the middle school and high school. GPS: 360 Lynn Fells Parkway, Melrose, MA

This page is for the discussion of all dog issues in Melrose, and particularly the Melrose Dog Park at Ell Pond. PARK RULES

The Melrose Dog Park at Ell Pond is for the use and enjoyment of Melrose Residents and their Guests, open daily from Sunrise to Sunset. Violations of rules for the use of the park are subject to removal from the park or suspension, and the issuance of municipal infractions. ALL DOGS ENTERING SHALL:
-wear a current municipal license and rabies vaccination tag.
-be accompanied by a guardian of at least 16 years of age.
-be encouraged to use the p*e posts outside the park entrance.
-be at least four (4) months of age and fully vaccinated. ALL DOG GUARDIANS SHALL:
-be legally responsible for their dog(s) and any injuries caused by their dog(s).
-have no more than three (3) dogs per guardian in the park at the same time and carry a leash for each dog.
-keep their dog(s) in sight at all times.
-correct their dogs' behavior if their dog barks excessively.
-immediately clean and properly dispose of waste.
-advise other patrons of these rules and set an example of responsible dog care. PLEASE BE AWARE:
Dogs showing aggressiveness towards people or other dogs must be immediately leashed and removed from the dog park. No Dogs in heat and no puppies under four (4) months of age are allowed in the dog park. Professional dog trainers may not use this facility for the conduct of their business, unless authorized by the City of Melrose.

The DPW is aware and is working on getting the automatic water bowl fixed. Visitors of the Dog Park are encouraged to bring their own water. Unfortunately replacement parts are back ordered. Expected fix date in 12-16 days.

FYI: The Melrose Middle School will be having their end of the year outdoor party tomorrow, Wednesday June 14th around lunchtime at the Knoll. The Dog Park will be open however the PARKING ENTRANCE to the parking lot will be closed. Visitors of the dog park can drive/enter through the parking exit area.

If you are bringing your dog to the dog park you MUST be in the park with them WATCHING them. You can not leave them in there and take off. Or sit in your car. This is for the safety of the dogs & others using the park. Please be respectful and responsible. Thank you!
