**Meet Prince 👑🐾**Breed: GSD MixWeight: 60 lbsAge: Senior (but don’t tell him that!)Status: Available for adoption (serious inquiries only)**Background**Prince is a gentle and timid senior boy who found himself on the euthanasia list at Memphis Animal Services, but his story doesn’t end there! He may be a senior, but he’s got the spirit of a puppy—just with a few more gray hairs and a lot more wisdom! This lovable GSD mix walks well on a leash and takes treats very gently, proving that he’s still got some manners left in him. When he’s unsure, he looks for guidance, like a wise sage seeking a little extra advice. He knows commands like "sit" and "shake," reminding us that age doesn’t mean you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!Sure, he might be a senior, but Prince has a youthful heart—he’s not just chasing his tail; he’s contemplating the meaning of life while doing it! And while he’s not reactive to other dogs, he still thinks he’s the fastest dog in the park—just don’t let him catch you if you’re throwing a tennis ball!Traveling in the car? He’s your perfect co-pilot—just don’t forget to bring the snacks! After all, old dogs deserve treats too!Prince would thrive in a calm and understanding home where he can feel safe and build trust at his own pace.**Could you be the one to help Prince regain his confidence and maybe even join him in some tail-chasing adventures? 💙🐶** www.TeamMemphis.org
🌟 **A Heartwarming Rescue Story** 🌟Team Memphis Rescue and Support is deeply touched by the incredible journey of one special pup, Spruce, who is now proudly known as Blaize. 🐾❤️Spruce was once at the Memphis Animal Shelter, beloved by the staff but sadly placed on the euthanasia list. Fortunately, Kayla from PA completed a virtual adoption, and we thought this would mark the start of his happily ever after. However, things took a turn when Spruce was placed in a temporary foster home while waiting for his neuter appointment, only to be diagnosed as CDV positive. Time was running out for the devoted temp fosters, and that's when we stepped in, pulling him literally from the parking lot at MAS. We knew Kayla was facing the heartbreaking goodbye to her old pup while confronted with this challenge. 💔Thanks to the incredible efforts of Crystal and Billy Spicer who took Spruce under their wing, and Ellen Jones, who tirelessly advocated for him, Spruce received the care he desperately needed. With some generous pledges and support from an anonymous donor, we were able to cover the costs of his treatment.Spruce faced a toe infection that required amputation, but thanks to our IDEXX test, we confirmed he was not CDV positive. After getting neutered and all fixed up, he was transported to a loving new home where he is now thriving with his new momma, Kayla. 🌈This story is a testament to what we can achieve together. At Team Memphis Rescue and Support, we do more than just pull and list dogs; because of our fosters and volunteers we make a real difference in dogs lives. Happy Tails, little boy! 🐶💕 www.TeamMemphis.dog #RescueDogs #HappyTails #MemphisRescue #AdoptDontShop

@Meet Loki: The Senior Boy with a Big Heart and an Even Bigger Love for Breakfast!* ***COURTESY POST****Loki is a calm, cool, and collected senior husky who knows how to enjoy the finer things in life-like a good cuddle and an uninterrupted nap, even during the loudest thunderstorms or seven straight days of professional-grade fireworks from your neighbors next-door. He's a pro at staying zen. When it comes to food, Loki is a bit of a foodie! His favorites include chicken, liver, sweet potatoes, peaches, rice, green beans, peas, peanut butter, bone broth, and yogurt. Sometimes he'll humor me with a frozen blueberry. He knows what he likes, and who can blame him?Around the house, Loki is the definition of a well-mannered gentleman. He's never torn up anything and just needs a little initial guidance on the leash for his bathroom breaks. Inside, he roams freely and enjoys hanging out with my girl, Betty. They get along well both indoors and outdoors. I'm still working on getting them to play at full throttle, but Betty tends to get a bit concerned when Loki gets too bouncy and vocal. Poor guy just wants a buddy who understands his playful energy. If you have a dog around Betty's size (45-55lbs, Staffordshire Terrier mix), and they tolerate playful energy, they'd likely be a good match!*Loki's Morning Routine:*Loki may be 10 years old, but when it's breakfast time, he's got the energy of a puppy! His hops, skips, and gentle jumps are a daily highlight. He's very respectful-keeping just enough distance that his little toe taps barely graze you as you walk to the kitchen.*Walks Are Life:*The next big event in Loki's day? Walks! Grab a leash, and he knows it's about to go down. He'll circle and pounce with excitement at the door. But he's a gentleman about it-he knows that no walk starts until he comes to me and waits patiently to be hooked up. He might tug a bit during the first 10-15 minutes, but after that, it's smooth sailing by your side.*A Few Fun Facts:*Loki has som
Juno and Laurel are our 2 longest dogs in the rescue. We rescued Juno in September 2020 and Laurel in April 2021. Both were medical cases and Laurel’s injuries were so severe she almost didn’t survive surgery. The girls met several years ago and they became best friends! They have been living at Unity for Animals-UFA and even though it’s a house, it’s not a HOME. Juno and Laurel are available for adoption together or separately. They can be dog selective, so no other dogs in the home is best suited for them. Both girls LOVE to go for car rides so they would each make a good companion for a commercial truck driver if a dog is allowed. As a rescue we do not give up on our dogs, we want them to have forever homes…….and we know there is a family of two out there somewhere that will love and treasure Juno and Laurel as much as we do! www.TeamMemphis.org #junoandlaurel #teammemphisrescue #fosteringsaveslives #adoptdontshop
