Our Shelby Farms Stables team had a pretty successful day at the Distance Championships. We ended up winning the 50 mile Championship in the Appaloosa division, Reserve Champion in the Half Arabian division, Best Condition, and High Vet score. It was great to see some people I haven’t seen in years like Jeff Hartman and Patty Jo.

We are getting to that time of year when we start to run out of spaces for our youth summer camps. Don’t miss out and book with the most prestigious youth horse camp in the mid south. Every year we fill up. Our camp structure separates us from other camps in the area. We don’t have 16 year olds just babysitting your children. We have certified instructors that know what they’re doing and have your child’s safety as the most important element in camp.

Phew!! We know it's a hot one out there today! For the safety of our horses, staff and customers, we won't be riding in this type of weather. Instead, we're all staying cool - like Sundance here, who is enjoying a delicious summer treat! (sound on for best slurping sound experience 😊)

First seven horses being moved from our Memphis location to our new Nashville location!

It’s that time of year where the horses really enjoy their swimming time.

First things first: Shelby Farms Stables is looking for passionate, horse-loving volunteers! We're a volunteer-run barn that offers trail rides 7 days a week. Volunteers help feed, groom and tack up horses, and work as wranglers on rides. Volunteers must be 18 or older, and have horse experience, Western or English, or be willing to take lessons at SFS before being approved to volunteer. Canter - don't walk - to the stables for more information!

Big things are coming for Shelby Farms Stables. Keep an eye out for news - Cowboy is excited!

20 wonderful kids in our advanced horse camp last week. We continue to host the premier horse camp in the equine community in the mid south year after year. We are one of the only camps in the area with CHA (Certified Horseman’s Association) certified instructors. For the safety of your child you should always find out if equine camps or lessons instructors are CHA certified. Next week is the last week of the year for our camps. It is a beginner horse camp.
