When you’re not ready for training to be done for the day 😂
It’s the small wins in this game. Saint came to us as a 6 month old but wasn’t a very confident puppy. Obedience went well and when it came time to begin F.F. We quickly realized he lacked the mental maturity to handle it. His owner and I agreed that instead of ram rodding him through it and killing his attitude, we would send him home and let him grow up a bit. Well he is back and he is a different dog. Toe pinch went great, and tonight was the first night of Collar Fetch. Tail was wagging, his little head Bob he does when he is excited is back, and he is now off to the races.
Classic case of you got to be patient, these dogs aren’t cookie cutter, and sometimes they mentally aren’t ready.
Being able to utilize our taxpayer dollars at night has its benefits as we enter the hot months. Every young dog that has come through the kennel has had their blind running foundation built on this field under the lights.
Dyson owned by @Bernard Terry working through pike work and about to begin T drill will get a lot of reps in the cooler late night temps over the next few weeks.
SportDOG Brand Purina Pro Plan
First mark in 4 months after being kennel confined for a broken leg. She missed a step. Penny’s road back is well under way.
Leo owned by Ed Apple working through No-No drills. This young British Hammer should be wrapping up his Seasoned title at the end of this month and then it’s all Summer to get ready for Finished. He’s already running to a low level Finished level but when you over prepare you test easy.
Dyson has begun Mini T (3 handed casting) and is rolling right along. Wont be too long before we are on to pile work and then full T pattern.
Dyson has graduated F.F and moved on to 3 handed casting. Little girl is picking it up nicely. She’s going to be a little hammer 🔨 🔨.
HRCH Tallie stretching her legs on a long sailing Speck.
HRCH Tallie owned by Stephanie Opp getting in on some Speck action.
HRCH Tallie finally got on her first hunt and retrieve of the year.
Not many first year dogs get +155 retrieves, not on a dry year like this year, and we are only the first week into the second split. Leo has been absolutely crushing it in his freshman season. This dog is going to have a big future.
Team work makes the dream work. These two girls do everything together, they got their Seasoned titles together, HRCH titles together, sleep together during hunting season, and make quick work together out in the field.
HRCH Honey & HRCH Roux showing how team work makes the dream work.

Young Leo is wrapping up T-Drill just in time to head home for duck season. This young gun has a bright future ahead of him and can’t wait to finish him out this Spring.
