Hi it’s Oskar owner of Krewe Du Groom. I’m making this post to say that yes “owning a dog is a privilege” and to me that defines as it’s a privilege cause who are we as humans to deserve the devotion love and trust of a dog.
I think some people use that quote in a way that makes it seem underserved people shouldn’t have dogs cause they may not have the means financially.
Personally I believe the care of dogs should be more accessible, food , veterinary, grooming. The amount of house less dogs and stray population is astronomically larger than the portion of housed dogs in fit homes. Making the care of animals more accessible would alleviate at least some of that burden.
I do my part as much as I can and so I offer grooming on a sliding scale, pay what you can etc to some customers who don’t have the money, and struggle in ways many of us don’t, but love their dogs just as much as anyone and who want to do right for their animal.
If you need your pet groomed but don’t have means of transport, and or can’t pay the average costs of grooming please text me to discuss your situation. as always , lead with kindness.

My least favorite type of groom ! I won’t typically even do shave downs like this anymore. I refer people to a veterinary clinic for a vet shave, or refer to a groomer who doesn’t mind struggling with a dog not used to grooming while simultaneously ruining their blades. Which is less and less groomers willing to do this these days cos the sheer over abundance of matted doodles.
I’m not even gonna post an after pic cos it looks freaking awful. But not as awful as an entirely pelted dog .
