Bighouse adventures went fairly well today. There are 4 teams of 2 people each(a trainer and a helper for each dog).
Team coffee- Rocked their one minute sit away from handler perfectly. Didn’t lose any points !
Team Daisy Mae- Surprisingly did very well on their one minute sit as well, they did lose 2 points for a simple trainer/handler error but the dog did exactly what she’s supposed to do !
Team Cotton- Cotton did well and his trainer did well! He held his sit for the whole 1 minute but unfortunately got up as his handler was returning to him and failed (talk about a close call though!)
Team Mercedes- Mercedes made a slight mistake and broke her sit after about 1 second(she’s a bit of an airhead and was likely daydreaming about chasing birds) Her handler immediately tried again and this time Mercedes was paying full attention and knocked it out of the park! Unfortunately I have to be fair across the board so it was still a fail but I’ve got a sneaky feeling next week will be a lot better!
Now if you’ve been keeping tabs and following the betting you’ll remember that coffee was my pick to do best in this group. I’m sticking to that.
I think Mercedes is gonna be the real underdog of the group though; even though she’s failed 2 weeks in a row. She’s shown that she has a brain and she’s got a good trainer to help her figure it out!
Daisy Mae and Cotton are currently battling it out to see who’s NOT gonna be the dunce in the class. It’s a tough call. Cotton is a smart dog but has an inexperienced and somewhat unmotivated trainer. Daisy Mae is all brawn and no brains but has a slightly more seasoned (although super empathetic) trainer. All I can say about Daisy and Cotton is “May the odds be in your favor!” 😂
Y’all know what day it is! #gonetothebighouse
They still sound better than half these “pop” country people!
He says he’s not ready to go just yet!
The new kid on the block…😍
This is one reason we don’t walk dogs on a harness that don’t already know how to walk properly on leash.
Dog trainers know that there’s no replacement for training…
Pet owners that don’t know any better are like “oh that looks like it’ll work!”
Technology fails; batteries die. Buttons break. Collars get worn out and loosen. And this contraption also tightens up to restrict movement. I can see lots of dogs freaking out and flopping around at the sensation of something tightening up.
Buyer beware! There are lots of scams in the pet industry.
“Is your dog Full of Sit?”
Today we reflect on things to be thankful for.
Here at Full of Sit we’re thankful for wonderful friends and family.
We’re thankful for all the wonderful dogs and people that have been a part of this journey.
And we’re definitely thankful that our dogs can walk politely on a leash!
Happy Thanksgiving! We hope everyone has a really great Turkey day!
