Happy “Furever Friday” ❤️🐾🫶

Today we are showcasing our best boy, Reggie!

Reggie is being fostered in Bristol, TN- our East Tennessee location! He’s living his best mountain dog life and ready to find his forever family! 🐶🏠

We all know there is nothing like coming home to the excitement of a loyal dog. Reggie is as loyal as they come and known for greeting people with gentle hugs! He is extremely affectionate with people. He thrives playing with other dogs and being around children (he loves his human foster siblings). His best doggie friend is a doodle and they go on adventures together!

True to his breed, he’s a guardian of his flock, be it humans or animals. He is housebroken and is not destructive inside. He can stay out without supervision and enjoys naps in his favorite spot! He is great on a leash and is the happiest boy on walks. Going to the dog park and playing outside are his favorite activities.

Reggie’s beautiful physique and great temperament are attention grabbers. His fun, affectionate, loyal, and friendly demeanor makes him a keeper. He is also a 10/10 cuddle bug.

We got the absolute cutest baby into the rescue this weekend!

🌼 Meet Daisy 🌼

She’s a gorgeous grey pocket pittie mix! She’s a tiny girl and def mixed with something small!

So far, she loves her foster family and playing with her foster brother! She knows how to sit, is potty trained, walks well on a leash, and sleeps in her crate. She loves to cuddle and is a very gentle girl. Monday she is getting spayed and vetted- then she will be ready to find her forever family.

Update on Ralphie. He was at the Emergency Vet Monday- Wednesday. Thursday he was transferred to our vet, Northgate Animal Hospital. He has received a newer treatment that’s designed for parvo babies. He’s been receiving all the meds. He’s still not eating and his count is 1.2 and anything below 4 is dangerous. He’s getting a plasma transfusion today. We are doing all we can to save him and over $3,000 in between both vet bills. He’s a fighter but we need your support. Please help us continue to give him the care he needs.

Hi everyone! Ralphie here. I was found running next to a cardboard box alongside a busy highway last week. The most wonderful family stepped up to save me and bring me into the rescue. I am named after “A Christmas Story”.

I was taken to the ER Monday night because I was very sick. Turns out I have the big bad parvo. I am so sad that I have to be away from my foster family on Christmas. I am getting the treatment I need but the nice people who saved me at Happy Tails Canine Rescue, need funds to cover my medical bills. It’s my Christmas wish to be healthy and go home.

Please consider donating to Ralphie’s care so he can get all the treatment he needs and get better soon. We need a Christmas miracle for Ralphie. His story isn’t over yet.

It’s here! Our last pups & yoga + fundraiser of the year! 🐾🫶

A week from today, Sunday 12/29 from 12-1pm, come do yoga with the 6 week old puppies in our rescue.

The cost is $25 a person (all ages and families welcome) and all proceeds go towards our rescue & vetting the puppies.

Have an approved application on file, and leave with a puppy! Put “puppy yoga on the app” priority will be given to approved apps to pick out their puppy! ❤️

🎶 On the 12th day of rescue, my true love gave to me: Salem who went viral, because she was pregnant, with a single polar bear, I mean puppy…. who was 3 times the size of a normal puppy. 🎶

We started our rescue in December of 2023 with Etta’s surprise pregnancy, so it’s only fitting we close out December of 2024 with another surprise pregnancy. We rescued Phoenix (now Salem) at the beginning of October. She was adopted and we had her spay scheduled the following week (because she had a foot injury that needed to heal, she was being treated for parasites, and she needed to put on some weight). When the vet went in to spay her, she found Salem was pregnant and due more than likely in a few days. 😱 It was past the point of a safe spay for Salem. Four days later… Salem gave birth to a single puppy who was three times the size of a normal newborn puppy. The story went viral when her mom posted on Reddit. We have been featured in Newsweek, We Rate Dogs, and another BIG surprise coming soon. 🤫 Stay tuned….👀

We are thrilled to see how much joy Salem and her puppy, Astrid are bringing to so many. Salem is adopted but her polar bear puppy Astrid, is now up for adoption in our rescue and will be ready to go home on Christmas Day! 🎄🎅🏻💚❤️🐾

🎶 On the 11th day of rescue, my true love gave to me: new shelter partnerships in TN & Mississippi 🎶

In September- November, we were working hard to make new connections with local shelters. While we do take in an occasional owner surrender, or dog off the street, our passion really lies helping dogs out of the shelter. Animal shelters are overrun, over crowded, and often don’t have enough staff, volunteers, help, and visibility to get the animals seen and out. We are so fortunate and proud to now be partners with 6 shelters: Memphis Animal Services, Tipton County Animal Shelter, West Point Clay County Animal Shelter, Olive Branch Animal Shelter, Germantown Animal Shelter, and Collierville Animal Shelter! Enjoy some pics of dogs we have pulled from our newer shelter partners. 🐾
