The hospital will be closing at 4:00pm on Tuesday, December 31st, and will be closed all day on Wednesday, January 1st. We will reopen at 8am on the 2nd!

Uli decided to take advantage of our little cubby hole in the exam room today! We're used to seeing kitties snuggle up in here, so this was a change!

The animal hospital will be closing at 12pm on Tuesday, December 24th. We will be closed all day on Wednesday the 25th, and will reopen at 10am on Thursday, December 26th.

Each year we host a holiday donation drive that we call Presents for Paws, to benefit two local animal shelters. This year we will be collecting donations for Verona Street Animal Society and Pet Pride of New York.

Verona Street Animal Society is "a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing the resources necessary to enable Rochester Animal Services to more effectively serve the public." You can find out more about them and take a look at their adoptable dogs and cats at www.vsas.org, or at their page.

Pet Pride of New York is cat shelter located in Victor, whose mission is to "save the lives of homeless cats in our community by providing shelter, veterinary care, and placement into loving adoptive homes. Learn more and see their adoptable cats at www.petprideny.org, or at their page.

Drop off any items you'd like to donate here at Mendon Village Animal Hospital during regular business hours from now til the end of December, and we will deliver them!
You can also take a look at their Amazon and Chewy Wish Lists and have items shipped directly to the shelters.
Financial contributions can also be made directly through each website.

Please help us recognize all of the hard work these two groups put into providing for pets in need in our community!

Found/deceased dog: We are very sorry to have to share this, but hope this post finds its way to owners who may be looking for their missing dog, at the very least for some sense of closure.

An older, tan and white female Shih Tzu was found deceased on Boughton Hill Rd, near West Bloomfield Rd this morning. The finder was kind enough to bring her to us so we could scan her for a microchip. Unfortunately, she does not have a chip and is not wearing a collar.

We have reached out to neighboring animal hospitals and Lollypop Farm to spread the word.
