Due to a change in plans I got to spend some time grooming one of my girls today. She still needs to grow more coat in some areas because I take her short in the summer so we both get a break for a bit but it’s getting there.

Happy miss Stella now has a poodle cut (scroll back to see her previous pictures where she had a teddy bear style face and her first ever visit where she didn’t get a full cut so she had all her crazy puppy hair) Stella is still a little nervous about grooming but, as you can see here, she gets super happy and playful afterwards while she waits to go home. It takes time and practice to build their confidence in the grooming process and some pups take longer than others but happy faces like this make it worth it!

I have been horrible at remembering to get pictures recently but did grab this one today of Dior, of Precisely Poodles, after she climbed into my sons lap and just laid her head on him for love while she waited for her sisters to get groomed 💕

Stella the standard poodle puppy got her first haircut today ❤️
Teaching puppies to be comfortable with grooming is a training process just like anything else. It’s not perfect yet but we know what we need to work on and her mom and dad are going to help work on these things at home so that hopefully her next visit she is more comfortable and we are able to get a nicer finish.

Sweet Stella the standard poodle puppy had her first ever visit to a groomer this week.
We just did a bath and a tidy (trimming around her eyes, feet and sanitary area) so she could start to learn the process, hear all the noises and feel all the equipment without overwhelming her to much. Grooming is a training process like anything else and starting a puppy off young is important to helping them gain confidence in a process they will have to have done regularly for the rest of their lives.

I have been so lucky to have so many amazing clients but in other groups I have been seeing a lot of this recently, people bashing their groomer for shaving their dog down. We really don’t shave dogs “for no reason” , there IS a reason.

Pricing update for 2022:
First I want to say a huge thank you to everyone for all the amazing support over the last year. I really cannot say thank you enough.
With that being said, with the costs of everything rising, in order to continue working in a 1 on 1 and cage free environment, I have realized I need to make a few changes here and there, the biggest is pricing. Starting Jan 1st 2022 I will be switching to an hourly rate for all grooming services. Larger dogs/dogs with longer coats are going to see the biggest jump. This approach better reflects the time and work involved in the grooming process, especially for that of the larger dogs.
The new rate will be $65 per hour. Minimums and additional fees for things such as excessive matting/shedding/fleas/difficult pups will still apply
