Good fit for the job: Friendly. Flexible, willing to pitch in where needed, an eye for detail, likes to complete a checklist and can keep themselves on task, enjoys dogs of all temperaments and sizes, likes keeping a clean and organized environment.

Job duties include: Supervising dogs while they play, cleaning play areas and kennels, feeding and administering medications, taking care of cats, communicating with pet parents on dogs behavior during their stay, taking appointments and answering phone calls.

True! Merocrine sweat glands function similarly to human sweat glands. Located in your dog’s paw pads, these glands activate when your pet is hot to cool them down.

1. Keeping Your Dog on a 6' or Shorter Leash:
When bringing your dog into a store, it's important to keep them on a leash that is 6 feet or shorter. This allows you to maintain better control of your dog in a confined and potentially crowded space. A shorter leash helps prevent your dog from wandering off, approaching strangers, or getting into merchandise. It also reduces the risk of tripping hazards for other customers. Using a standard leash, rather than a retractable one, is generally safer and more manageable in public settings.

2. Cleaning Up After Them:
Responsible pet ownership includes cleaning up after your dog, no matter where you are. Carry waste bags with you at all times and be prepared to pick up after your dog if they have an accident. Leaving messes behind is not only disrespectful to the store and other patrons, but it can also lead to hygiene issues and negative perceptions of dogs in public spaces. Promptly
cleaning up after your dog ensures that the environment remains clean and pleasant for everyone.

3. Respecting the Personal Space of Other People and Pets:**
Not everyone is comfortable around dogs, and some people may have allergies, fears, or other reasons for needing their personal space respected. 🐾 Make Feeding Time Training Time! 🐾

Feeding your dog is a daily routine—why not turn it into a valuable training session? Plus, feeding meals instead of free feeding has its own benefits (we'll talk about that in another post!). Here are three great ways to use your dog's meal times for training beyond just sit and stay:

1️⃣Strengthen Recall: Call your dog to you and away from their food, then release them to eat. This will help improve their recall ability. If your dog isn't ready to recall away from a bowl on the floor, start by calling them away from the food while it's still on the counter.
2️⃣Training Throughout the Day: Use all or a portion of your dog's daily food for training sessions throughout the day. This keeps them engaged and learning in small, manageable chunks.
3️⃣Loose Leash Walking: Put your dog's leash on, pick up the bowl, and go for a walk around the house. Make a few turns, and when the leash is loose, put the food down as a reward.

Remember to be patient, reward small efforts, and make progress with lots of small steps.

Turning meal times into training sessions is a fun and effective way to reinforce good behavior!

1️⃣Put the music or TV on loud
2️⃣Natural Calming Supplements BEFORE the event happens
3️⃣Create a safe place in a room towards the center of the house where the vibration of the fireworks won't vibrate the room as much.
