We were alerted by a lovely follower that some of our images were posted in other groups with advertisements from other "breeders" offering puppies for sale. This is a very disturbing information to receive and I followed up immediately!
As you may have noticed, all content we post on our pages is original and followers can see my own family grow over the years. My young handlers are my very own children and when someone claimed that my children are also "their children" - I was absolutely raged!
META is absolutely fantastic about taking copyrighted images down and over the years I reported unauthorized use of my work more times that I care to count. As the rights owner I file a very quick infringement of copyright complaint and all copied work (images and text) is taken down within hours. I don't even notify the person who copied it - some don't even realize they can't do that on social media (Please note that SHARING other posts is absolutely fine!)

This case was different and I had to investigate a little more! Here is what I found out and I hope this will help potential puppy buyers to avoid being scammed!
1. Image of my daughter holding one of my puppies was posted in a PRIVATE GROUP. Although content was available to 34K group members, it is NOT found by any image search engine and is not available to public/ those not in the group
2. Image was shared by a "happy owner" that was giving a recommendation of a "reputable breeder". The group was FULL of similar posts from different group members all recommending to purchase a puppy from this ONE BREEDER! That fake breeder had more reviews and recommendations in that group than we have on google in over 12 years of business! All reviews were positive and all puppy owners were happy!
3. This "breeder" was also the group ADMIN - they had control to what is posted, commented and what gets approved! While there were random posts from group members asking about names, feed, leashes and other common topics for a discussion between dog owners, all puppy buying posts were leading to the "admin breeder". (I am sure anyone questioning this or pointing on red flags would immediately get banned from that group)
4. This breeder was stealing images from social media (FB and Instagram) and claiming that those are their dogs and puppies!

When I joined the group, I pretended that I am interested in a puppy. I got into a conversation with this breeder via messenger. Here are their tactics:
1. Their profile is created as a FEMALE - more people would trust a female seller/ business owner. They had very common "American" name - most people would trust "Jenny" or "Amy" with a friendly smiling profile picture.
2. Their profile was created as BUSINESS! This is a tricky part - while you think you are contacting a PERSON, you are actually messaging with a business profile! There can be several admins and they can be anywhere in the world! Business profile has no friends and tags are easily removed! No links to external sources on social media (always check your sellers on social media to ensure they are REAL people)
3. When asked about puppies, of course they had puppies available and and of course those puppies would be turning 7 weeks "this weekend/next week". I wanted a female and of course they just had TWO for me to choose from - one all black and one red and black (just in case either one was my preference LOL)! I am 100% sure if I wanted a solid white - they would have one just like that! Forget about color genetics rules - fake breeders can create puppies of all colors in one litter!
4. When asked about date of birth and parents - was provided with stolen images of random (but very beautiful) dogs from Instagram - both were super easy to find using reverse image search! Thank Goodness they sent me an image of a male and a female for mom and dad. No actual names, links to pedigree, dates of birth, titles, health screenings, no names of a veterinarian. No information on litter - when was born, how many males, females. No images of litter growing - from birth to 6 weeks - just what they look like NOW. No information on any type of registration!
5. When asked about their location and visit, they asked me about MY LOCATION and when I responded it is "Madison, WI" they magically were located about an hour from me! Of course we will trust some "Amy" or "Jenny" that lives an hour away! She is local! What can go wrong?
6. Of course I had to reserve a puppy immediately, as they had other families contacting them and to ensure the puppy goes to me, I had to place a deposit! No contract, no legal binding, just money transfer! The puppy was only $850!!! What a deal! And a deposit was just $400 - a small fraction of what every other "greedy breeder" charges! Because "Amy" is nice and loves working with puppies and does not do this for money, etc!
7. They had Zelle and Cash app into their "husband's" name - I pretended it did not work, so they provided more and more "relatives" that could accept a payment from me. When all failed, they asked me to pay in Wal-Mart of Walgreens gift cards!
8. Have to add: they did ask me questions on what I do for a living, where I live, if I have pets, kids or allergies. They never cared to check my answers and do their own background check on me. I purposely lied in my answers - simple glimpse at my FB page (I messaged from personal page) would tell a different story, but they never cared to do that! They also would have seen images of my children holding my puppies on my personal page - the very same images they use to make sales! But why waste time and check?

I reported my copyrighted images and they were removed by META. I later found dozens of public posts from users in other groups and personal pages sharing stories of loosing money to this "breeder". Please use this post as a caution. If something looks too good to be true - it is NOT! Breeders don't always have puppies available. Their puppies are not always the gender, color or age you want. Their pricing isn't always affordable. Breeders don't always live close by. And most importantly - ask for more information! Veterinarian reference, litter records, parents' names and pedigree and so much more!

In the 1890s, Captain Max von Stephanitz, a young German cavalry officer, decided to develop a national breed of shepherd dogs. Max von Stephanitz was a very educated man, fond of shepherd dogs and appreciated very high their working abilities. He is known as the father of the breed. April 3, 1899 is considered to be the birthday of The German Shepherd Dog. On that day Max von Stephanitz purchased a herding dog on a dog show. The dog's name was Hektor Linksrhein (later named Horand von Grafrath) and it became a forefather for present German Shepherd Dogs and the first registered GSDs. Horand von Grafrath won the first German Shepherd Dog show that was held by Max von Stephanitz. He founded the Verein fur Deutsche Schaferhunde, the German Shepherd Dog breeders' organization and was named its first president. His efforts were not in vain. The German Shepherd Dog quickly became popular. They proved to be very diversified dogs. GSDs are widely used in police and military work. They earned the reputation as good family companion as well. The German Shepherd Dog became the first dogs used as Guide Dogs for the blind.
