Why We Prefer Puppy Pens Over Crates
At Vom Geliebten Haus, we believe that raising confident, well-adjusted puppies starts with creating the right environment from the very beginning. That’s why we prefer to set up puppy pens in the house rather than relying on crates.
While crates can be helpful in certain situations, they often provide limited space—especially vertical space. We’ve found that this can influence how puppies carry themselves as they grow. A puppy that’s developing into their body and ears needs freedom of movement and a space where they don’t feel the need to hunch down or hold their ears flat.
A puppy pen offers a safe, open space where your pup can play, stretch, and rest comfortably—without feeling confined. It still provides boundaries and security, but in a way that feels more like a cozy corner of your home than a cage.
We’re passionate about raising puppies that are confident, healthy, and comfortable—and we believe their space should reflect that too.

Our sweet Litter F is growing beautifully!
We’re already seeing gorgeous physical development — their long coats are starting to show, and the rich colors are absolutely stunning.
We couldn’t be more excited about these puppies and can’t wait to watch them continue to blossom in the weeks ahead. Each day they amaze us with their charm, snuggles, and promise of the wonderful companions they’ll become.

Today we celebrate the birthday of our bonus-daughter, Sonya. A few years ago, this bright young woman from Ukraine came into our lives so unexpectedly — just when we were moving houses, had a litter of tiny puppies needing round-the-clock care, and the war in Ukraine had just begun.
That year was full of emotions and challenges, yet Sonya’s presence was truly a gift. We needed her just as much as she needed us. She became family in every sense of the word — bringing warmth, laughter, and kindness to our home.
Although Sonya is now back in Ukraine, we keep in touch and carry her in our hearts every day. We love you dearly, Sonya, we miss you, and we wish you a birthday filled with prosperity, love, peace, and safety.
May this new year of life bring you strength, joy, and the comfort of being surrounded by people who cherish you as much as we do. 💙💛

We are a small, family owned and operated German Shepherd Dog kennel located in beautiful rural Wisconsin. Our concentration is on Purebred German Shepherd Dogs - Imported German Lines. We strive to keep our breeding standards high, and therefore, all or dogs are health-tested & trained.
Our kennel produces saddle Black & Red Puppies and Solid Black Puppies of both Standard Short Stock and Long Coat Stock. All our puppies are family raised and desensitized with kids, other dogs and our busy lifestyle! Puppies are placed with families after 8 weeks and come with registration (AKC), full Vet Check & Vaccinations, Health Guarantee & Micro-Chip. Shipping is Available - Ground Delivery And Air Cargo From Msp/St Paul Airport.
