Be careful and mindful of your pets during this next week. Most pets do not like fireworks! Keep them inside or if you must- secured and in your sight. A lot of pets run away at the loud noise! Happy (early) 4th everyone! 🇺🇸💙

We microchip! It has brought so many pets back to their loving families. Make an appointment to get your pet chipped! It is also always offered/an option to add on your check-in form when your pet has a procedure requiring sedation/anesthetic.

Keep this in mind as the temperature rises! Leave your pets at home or in the running vehicle with a passenger if you really must make a pit stop. Even just a few minutes can be harmful! Advocate for your pet and others if you see this. ☀️🔥

We will still be taking Large Animal emergency calls today. Staff will try to get shoveled out for small animal afternoon appointments. It’s National Fruitcake Day! There are a lot of different recipes for fruitcake, but most of them include toxic or sugary ingredients that are dangerous to pets. So if you plan to celebrate – remember, keep pets out of the kitchen as you bake & don’t share any fruitcake with your pets!

**Update** Country Doctors Veterinary Service will be closed at NOON today, December 23rd for all small animals. If you have a small animal emergency, AERC in Oakdale is open 24 hours and Allied Emergency in Eau Claire is open starting at 5pm Friday. All large animal emergencies are still being covered. We apologize for any inconvenience and we hope that everyone stays safe! Our doors will be open Monday, December 26th at 8am.
