Follow-Up Friday!! 🎉

Saylor was adopted on 5/13/24 after 90 days, her family says "We love Saylor very much! She was shy at first, but we gave her her own space and time to adjust. Now that she’s warmed up she is exploring the house and loves everyone in the family.
Recently we found baby Boo Boo and now they are best friends. He helps her adventure and play more!
Her weight loss journey is going well too, her last weigh in shows she’s lost about two pounds since she was adopted! Everything is looking up Saylor!"

Hank, 4years old. Neutered, up to date on vaccines, and has akc paperwork. Loves being outside and going for walks as well as playing with toys such as balls and chewing on bones. He has lots of energy but can also be calm and relaxed at times. He’s slow to warm up to new people and animals so needs a patient owner. His ideal home is where he can have plenty of space to run around.

🎄 Christmas Hazards for Pets: Tips for a Safe Holiday Season

The holidays are a time for celebration, but they can also bring unexpected dangers for pets. Veterinarian scientist, Dr. Beverly Wilkinson highlights common hazards to watch out for to keep your furry family members safe:

🎁 Tinsel and Decorations: Tinsel can cause intestinal blockages if ingested, especially in cats. Opt for pet-friendly decorations, secure electrical cords, and use flameless candles.

🌿 Toxic Plants: Poinsettias, mistletoe, and holly are toxic to pets. Use artificial alternatives or keep these plants out of reach.

🍫 Holiday Foods: Avoid sharing chocolate, grapes, raisins, xylitol (in sugar-free products), onions, garlic, or alcohol with your pets. These can cause serious health issues, from kidney failure to anemia.

💧 Christmas Tree Water: Tree water may contain toxic additives. Cover the base to prevent pets from drinking it.

🥐 Yeast Dough: Rising dough can expand in the stomach, causing pain and bloating. Fermentation also produces alcohol, compounding the risk.

⚠️ Signs of Trouble: Watch for vomiting, diarrhea, excessive drooling, seizures, lethargy, or unusual behavior. If you suspect your pet has ingested something harmful, contact your veterinarian or a poison control hotline immediately:

• ASPCA Animal Poison Control: (888) 426-4435

• Pet Poison Helpline: (855) 764-7661

Prevention is Key: Keep harmful items out of reach and monitor your pets during holiday activities. With a little care, you can ensure a safe and joyful holiday season for all.

Follow-up Friday!! 🎉

Lyra was adopted on 2/26/24 after 3 weeks at the shelter. Her new family says, "Lyra is such a sweetheart, she loves pets, treats, and sitting on our laps while watching TV. She always greets us with a meow and loves hanging out in the kitchen between my legs when making dinner. She's such a goofball and goes in the dog kennel to nap and relax (it's her safe place) She likes to give the guinea pig, Mirabell kisses through her cage and loves to watch the fish. The dog tries to play with her and she just gets confused 🤣 We are so happy to have her in our family, thank you for letting us adopt her, she completes our family. ❤️"

Our Story
