Follow-Up Friday 🎉
Velcro was adopted on January 5th 2024 after 72 days at the shelter. Here's what his family said,

"Just a quick update on Velcro, who adopted us in January. Our grandson Brody is his best buddy. Velcro likes to lay in various places and positions, including on the blanket he brought from DCHS. He is such a joy to have. Thank you!"

If you'd like to send us an update on a pet you've adopted from us, email [email protected]! ❤

Roscoe’s Christmas wish came true—he now has a forever home! ❤️

When his foster family first brought him home, they promised it would only be temporary. But Roscoe had other plans. The instant bond he formed with his foster dad made it clear: he was already where he belonged.

After 136 days, Roscoe is officially HOME. 🏠

🐾 The True Cost of Saving a Life 🐾

Did you know? On average, it costs us $221 to care for just one animal while they’re with us. This includes:
• Medical Care: Vet exams, vaccinations, spaying/neutering, f***l testing and parasite treatments.
• Shelter: A warm, safe place to sleep, with clean bedding and plenty of love.
• Food & Supplies: Nutritious meals, toys, and other essentials to keep them happy and healthy.

Often times these pets also need specialized treatments, diets, medications, ect.

How You Can Help
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Here’s what your gift can do:
• $30 Provides shelter for a pet for one night
• $50: Covers a basic veterinary check-up.
• $100: Helps fund a spay/neuter surgery.
• $225: Fully supports one animal from intake to adoption.

DCHS dogs got to pick out their very own Christmas toys this year! 🎄🎁

Some knew which one they wanted right away, others had to sniff out each and every one, and some couldn’t care less about the toys and just wanted cuddles. 🥰

Our Story

The Dunn County Humane Society was formed in response to an act of cruelty which resulted in the death of Flash, a four-year-old Basset Hound. It is committed to the prevention of animal suffering in his memory. The Society was chartered in December 1993 by the State of Wisconsin as a nonprofit organization.
