Well today’s sunset ride was a bit dark on the way back to the barn haha I’d have called it a moonlit ride instead but of course we had zero moon out tonight even behind the clouds.
Anywho, we still had a wonderful time! These awesome ladies were the perfect ending too my day, thank you Shady Grove visitors for always keeping a smile on my face❤️

Fall Color Update (10/30/2024)
High to Peak (75-100% change)

Most trees are in full color. Deep reds and bright yellows prevail. Very little green vegetation remains. A few trees have yet to reach peak, but are showing very bright, well developed colors. Late-changing trees remain primarily green.

Fall is finally in full swing and the mornings here at the ranch are truly breathtaking… aside from the absolute perfect riding weather we are having right now the forest is putting on a show! It seems like the leaves are changing by the hour, every ride I’ve taken has had a different color shade.

If you’re wondering what to expect from a visit to Shady Grove Horse Ranch I’m here to give you the full inside scoop. After the scenic drive down our dirt road leading to adventure you’ll arrive at our peaceful barn nestled in the countryside. You’ll be greeted by your guide or our wonderful barn staff to get signed in. Once your guide has everyone prepared for the ride and horses have been chosen you’ll head out to our mounting block. From here your guide will assist in getting you loaded on the horse and comfortable, along with a mini lesson to ensure safety and confidence for your ride. After leaving the barn you’ll experience our beautiful winding trails on horseback, weaving through the Jones family private air strip, past our intriguing 1860s cemetery, and into desoto wilderness. Wildlife encounters are frequent as you ride through the natural habitat of the White tail deer, Foxes, Red Tailed Hawks and even our American Bald Eagle! After a half hour ride across our property you are rewarded with the breathtaking view of the one and only desoto falls. Each trailride makes a full loop, allowing you to experience new scenery and views throughout the entire ride. Groups range from two to ten people, rides are by appointment only. As fall approaches we can’t help but appreciate just how beautiful this summer has been along with all the awesome people and kiddos that came though our barn this summer! Thankyou for letting us play a part in your summer family memories!

October was an amazing month here at Shady Grove! Warm sunshine, beautiful leaves changing, and great company! Thank you guys for coming out and riding with us! I can't wait to see what November holds!! 🐴🐴
