ADOPTED

What a look! Those big eyes make our hearts melt. We are starting our Sunday off with Roxy.

Roxy is a tender hearted lady who is longing for a family of her own. She is loyal and independent and would be a good friend to just about anyone. She is 9 years old and weighs 7 pounds.

Roxy enjoys lounging in the warmth of the sun while relaxing in the securely fenced yard. She will find the sunbeams even if they're coming into the house through a window....this girl likes to be warm. Roxy's rescuers are asking for a securely fenced yard because she really enjoys the fresh air. Apartment life is not for this girl because she has a tendency to bark at strange noises and people.

Roxy is living with dogs in her foster home and is fine as long as she can be the boss. She would be ok with a dog that is calm and submissive but she would prefer to be someone's one and only. It is unknown how Roxy would behave around cats so any cats in the home should be dog savvy. Because of the quick and unpredictable nature of young children her rescuers are asking for a home without children under 10 years of age.

Roxy is posted for Save-A-Mutt. She is being fostered in Snohomish County, WA.

Update 9/7/23:
PERMANENT Old Dog Haven HOME FOUND!
(in W. Washington state or Portland, OR only)

"Dorkie" (yorkie/doxie mix) spayed female, currently overweigh at 13 pounds. This is a fun, playful, quite active, affectionate little dog. She is housebroken, mostly ignored other dogs but will sometimes play with them - even a much bigger dog, and likes going out in public and socializing. She has one ominous value in her bloodwork that's awaiting a confirmation, and she badly needs a dental. She needs a Final Refuge home ASAP!

We are always hopeful that a Saturday can mean an adoption for a senior dog. We are hoping HOPING HOPING that today will be that day for Freckles. YOUR SHARES could help make that happen, Friends!

Freckles has been waiting at the shelter for almost 10 months for his adopter to come for him. Recently Freckles has begun to have seizures. Because stress can bring on seizures, kind staff are allowing Freckles to hang out with them in their office. But Freckles needs a HOME!

Freckles is thought to be an Akita mix, about 8 years old.
He enjoys going for walks but he can also chill with the best of him. The benefit of a mature dog! He is described as being pretty easy going. Freckles enjoys car rides and he walks well on leash. What a good boy!

We are told Freckles could be happy as an only pet but he does do well with other dogs in passing. So perhaps a home with another mellow, mature dog would be fine? Slow and smart introductions are always best to making lasting relationships.

It would be wonderful for Freckles to find an adoptive home and soon. Of course his adopter will need to be able to commit to his veterinary care. Ideally Freckles can be as close to being seizure free as possible.

Please help one of our clients find her son's dogs (also one of our clients) a loving home during this very shocking time for all impacted:
"Hera’s birthday is July 5, 2012. She has been with one owner her entire life and is a very sweet and intelligent dog. Our son was her only owner, but he is now deceased. Hera is an offspring of a Schutzhund decorated German black sable pair. Lucky vom Sulzachgrund and Raccoon’s Iada. Both those dogs originally came from Germany.
Hera is spayed and has never had a health issue. She weighs 83 pounds. It’s just not feasible for an older couple to keep both of these dogs and we have made the painful decision to try and find Hera another home. I would think she is best in a home without other pets and will latch on to her “people” with a dedication and focus. She has a wonderful appetite and loves to explore.

This morning one of our clients brought in this beautiful and so very sweet young girl! She was found at William Grose Park in Seattle near 31st and Denny. She did have a collar but no tags and no microchip to scan. We treated her for a cut on her back paw but other than that she was in good energy with a great appetite and adored all the attention we gave her. Kind with other dogs too. I hope someone is out looking for her and they are united soon! Currently she is in transport to the Seattle Animal Shelter located at 2061 15th Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119. We are trying to find a good home for this sweet 5 years old mix female dog named Bianca. Her owner is hospitalized and not doing well. He dearly loves her,( she is sweet gentle and very smart), he wants to be sure she will go to a good loving family before anything bad happens to him. Sharing this in hope you may know someone loving and responsible who will fell in love with her.

Mercer Island residents, please be on high alert! 2 to 4 coyotes have been spotted living on the Island! Please do not leave your cats or dogs outside unattended and be extremely cautious at night. Please keep your loved ones safe by bringing them inside and letting your neighbors know as well!
