HOLIDAY MEMORIAL CANDLES: We are doing our annual memorial candles to be displayed in the front reception area bay window. Please stop by and feel free to donate whatever you're able and we will put up candles in honor of your furry loved ones. Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful community, we are able to donate the proceeds to local rescues! ♡

At our house we love our and November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month! It also coincides with National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week Nov 3-9. We are so grateful to partners such as BARCS Animal Shelter and others we work with, to give care to the animals in the Baltimore community and elsewhere.

Remember, if you’re thinking of adopting, don’t forget to check out the older dogs and cats who often get overlooked.

Stormy has had some cloudy days and deserves to be in a home where she'll be spoiled!

Stormy came to our shelter after being found outside, very pregnant. Heartbreakingly, the single baby that she had, passed away. Since being with us, Stormy has been pretty scared. She will occasionally allow/enjoy being pet but it must be on her own terms. We are hoping that a patient adopter is out there, willing to give Stormy a chance.

Stormy has gained some confidence now that she's out and about in one of our cat rooms! She loves exploring the room and gets along absolutely fine with our other cats. We are still working on winning her over and once again, a patient owner is crucial for Stormy. This girl can be a bit sassy, so Stormy's ideal home would be in an adult only household.

Stormy is a young adult who is: spayed, UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and she is FIV/FELV NEGATIVE. If you want to apply for Stormy please apply at

Sept. 13th is Pet Birth Defect Awareness Day. This day is dedicated to the issue of pet birth defects including information on identification, prevention and treatment.

Pet Birth Defect Awareness Day was established in 2014 by Davis Rogers, founder of MBJungle Foundation. MBJungle Foundation was dedicated to the memory of his mother who passed away on September 13, 1996. So, Rogers recognizes the date each year as Pet Birth Defect Awareness Day. The foundation’s mission is to bring awareness and educate the public about pet birth defects and pet mental health challenges.
