Max is from Cedar Cove's very first litter and just turned 4. He is neutered, UTD on shots and vet visits, and comes from UKC CH parents who are both tested above CHIC. Max is a tall boy at ~26" at the shoulder and 55 lbs. He had an unfortunate series of events that caused him to be available and we are looking for a new home for him. He'll pursue squirrels and rabbits in the yard but stops at the fence and is easily recalled. He struggles with strange cats though and is difficult to redirect, so we are looking for a kitty-free home for him. Max is friendly with dogs and people, outgoing, and extremely eager-to-please. He has a moderate energy level and loves to work, be it obedience, fetch, or swimming. His littermates have enjoyed scentwork, fast-cat, agility, obedience, and more, and he would likely be a great partner for any or all of that. He enjoys scent games and chuck-it with tennis balls and is very intelligent and very biddable. His groomer absolutely loves him, as he is phenomenal on the grooming table. He has never met a dog he doesn't love and while he also loves people, he is fine being left alone during the work day. Due to some trauma Max experienced, he is absolutely 100% terrified at even the beep of an e-collar and will shut down if he hears the sound. Because of this, he needs a home that uses alternate training methods. He's an easy dog to live with, and although he will need love and exercise, he is well-behaved and does not have extensive training needs. He has completed his Canine Good Citizen, Home Manners and Advanced Trick Dog titles through the AKC. He is currently located in Kansas City area. Please message me here on fb with inquiries.
