Butternut Squash and Banana Waffles for Dogs
Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked and mashed butternut squash
- 1 ripe banana (mashed)
- 1 cup oat flour (or whole wheat flour)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or coconut oil
Instructions
1. Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed butternut squash, mashed banana, egg, applesauce, and olive oil. Mix until smooth.
3. Gradually add the oat flour and mix until a batter forms. If the batter is too thick, add a tablespoon of water at a time to reach your desired consistency.
4. Lightly grease the waffle maker with a small amount of olive oil or coconut oil.
5. Scoop a portion of the batter into the waffle maker, ensuring it spreads evenly. Close the lid and cook according to your waffle maker’s instructions, usually 3–5 minutes, or until the waffles are golden and firm.
6. Remove the waffles from the waffle maker and allow them to cool completely before serving to your dog.

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months.
