All our puppies are now officially gone to their new homes. We now just have the puppy we kept. Meet Lou-Lou! In keeping with our tradition of naming our pets after baseball players, we decided to name our girl after Lou Gehrig, one of baseball's original greats! We are already so in love with her and excited to watch her grow and develop and eventually have babies of her own! We already tested her DNA, and she is all clear of genetic defects! When she is older, we will also have her hips, elbows, and eyes evaluated with the OFA! We are excited for the future of Moonshadow Labradors!

We have just one puppy left with us now in addition to the girl we are keeping! We took them on their first visit to a park yesterday after school, and they had a great time exploring a new place with all the new smells! Then we headed to the vet for their second round of vaccinations! We are enjoying the extra time with Enzo and will be sad when he leaves on Saturday for his new home! Our girl Lou-Lou has been enjoying still having one sibling with her! Our house sure is quite these days, but I'm so happy for the great homes our puppies have gone off to! We enjoyed meeting everyone and look forward to updates as the puppies grow!

Pro tip: Labradors make great outfielders when playing baseball (with a tennis ball). They are always eager to retrieve that ball for you and keep the game going so they have more to keep retrieving! What a great sport dog in so many ways! 😉😂

Due to time constraints, I didn't get individual pictures of each puppy this week. However, I did get some adorable group shots! They are four weeks old now. We just started them on softened puppy food. They are becoming more alert and active and starting to play with each other! We are down to just two males left so if you have been thinking about a puppy from this litter now is the time to jump on these two! Check out our website for more pictures and information!

Our puppies are three weeks old now! Their eyes are open and they are starting to walk. They are also finding their little voices with hooting and howling which is both adorable and annoying at times! Ha! It is so fun to watch them grow and develop! I just got our website updated with new pictures of all the puppies. We still have three sweet boys available to be reserved! Check out our website for more pictures and information about them!

Sometimes it can be challenging to convince a 2.5 year old to take a nap. However it definitely helps to place an already sleeping puppy next to her and convince her to be quite because the puppy is sleeping. Within 5 minutes she crashed out with the puppy! Success! Ha! Just one of the many ways our puppies come with a start to great socialization from little kids! Sweet dreams! ❤️💤

Jackie ended up having 11 puppies today! She had 3 girls and 8 boys! So far, all seem happy and healthy! Mom and babies are doing great! During the next few days, we will be working our way through our waitlist. I will update availability after that! These puppies will be ready for new homes by October 30th. However, one or two girls will be staying with us! We are planning to keep one or two of these girls to eventually take over for breeding! We are so excited about these puppies after our year break! They are already so loved by all of us!

Puppy Day is finally here!! Jackie delivered her first puppy just after 10 am this morning! I will update as the day progresses! We are so excited to have puppies again! Jackie is doing great and seems so proud of her 1st baby!

Jackie and Reo had a great day together getting to know each other! Seeing them together makes me excited to see how puppies will turn out for them! I think they make a great pair! I am so happy about this great stud we found from Southern Jamm Retrievers! If they successfully pair we will be looking at puppies at the end of August/beginning of September with a going home time around the end of October!

We have an exciting update here at Moonshadow Labradors! Our girl Jackie is finally in heat! We had arranged to use a stud service for her next litter, and that time has finally come! We are working with Mike of Southern Jamm Retrievers in Fairbult, MN. Mike was kind enough to let us take his dog Reo to our home for Jackie! We will keep him until they have had a couple of ties and then bring him home. It's funny to think of renting a boyfriend for our girl, but I'm so happy this has worked out! It will be fun to have Reo with us and get to know the father of Jackie’s puppies! He is a health cleared and hunt titled Labrador! He is 63 lbs and has a great temperament! We are so excited for the puppies him and Jackie will have! The puppies will all likely be on the smaller end for the Labrador Breed! We are planning to keep one or maybe two females from this litter to raise up for future breeding when Jackie is ready to retire! We are excited for this next chapter at Moonshadow Labradors! Stay tuned for more updates on our time with Reo and our litter announcement!

Competitive Fetch is a major game around here with Jackie and Goldie! They love trying to be the first to retrieve the ball! These two could go for hours! They are Retrievers through and through. So, with this kind of passion for fetch, we always bulk order our tennis balls! We just got a fresh shipment for the spring and summer as the competition is intensifying again! These two are so fun to play with! They keep us busy!
