As promised. Everyone meet Miss Lady and her brother Scamp! They are quite the pair 🙃 Aren't they absolutely adorable? 😍 Lady & Scamp are approximately 4-5 years old, both are now up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, neutered, dewormed, vet-checked, heartworm negative and are in decent health for being under 4lbs (they need to gain a little weight yet, which their foster is working on).

During Lady's spay, it was found that she had an infection inside of her that it was great that we got her in as quickly as we did. So, she is currently on antibiotics to help fight off the infection.

Scamp tested positive for Lymes disease. He shows NO signs, but did test positive. He is currently on medication for it for 30 days.

They are "shy" and take some time to warm up to new people and dogs. We aren't sure how they are around cats. NO small children! 12 years and older and they MUST be respectful of a dogs' space. They are potty trained for outside and pad trained. They HAVE to have a fenced in yard.

Lady & Scamp are a bonded pair. They HAVE to be adopted together. They play & "play fight" like siblings, but they also love each other and rely on each other for EVERYTHING. The adopter MUST have experience with the Chihuahua breed and their "attitude" 😂 You will also have to have experience with Lymes disease.

If you think you would make the perfect home for Lady & Scamp, you can apply at the link below. We will ONLY accept applications that meet the above criteria!! If you apply and don't meet the criteria listed, your application will NOT be processed.

UPDATE: DONATION BUTTON STILL NOT WORKING 😕 working with META to find out why

I just realized, I never updated on how Malani's Echo turned out. Her results are:
The echocardiogram was consistent with the previously diagnosed ventricular septal defect (VSD). VSDs are a congenital defect in which there is a hole in the muscle of the heart, which separates the left and right ventricle (the main muscular pumps of the heart). This defect has resulted in blood leaking from the left side of the heart to the right side of the heart that quickly shunts through the pulmonary artery in systole and back to the left heart. This results in a larger than normal volume of blood returning to the left side of the heart. If there is a large amount of leakage of blood across the VSD, over time, this increase in blood flow to the left side of the heart can result in progressive heart enlargement and even heart failure.

Recommend performing thoracic radiographs. Recommend performing baseline doppler blood pressure measurements to ensure that patient is normotensive. Prefer Doppler method for BP since oscillometric method is less accurate in patients of this size and with this limb conformation.

We are currently trying to find a local Vet near Merrill to be able to do these things. Our Rescue Vet is not able to do the doppler blood pressure. So we have to find a Vet who can.

We don't know what the cost will be as of yet, but we will start collecting donations now. I am going to try adding the donate button. We will see if it works. Otherwise:

UPDATE: ADOPTED!!!

Meet Benson (AKA Benny), the irresistibly adorable 2 year old Pomeranian Mix with a heart of gold! Benson's story began at a local shelter, where he was discovered as a lost pup. Despite his early hardships, Benson's indomitable spirit and infectious joy quickly made him the star of the shelter.

But what truly sets Benson apart is his big, loving heart. He has an uncanny ability to sense when someone needs a little extra love and is always there with comforting cuddles and his big, soulful eyes. Sadie loves to go for walks and plays with squeaky toys. She does well with the male dogs in her foster home but she doesn't like the resident female dog.
She was adopted out once but came back because she was chasing the cats. Sadie is more independent (not a lap dog), but will come over for pets when she wants some attention.
Sadie is a senior, 10+ years old, and will need to be in a home where someone is home more than not.
Sadie is located near Milwaukee but can be transported!

💥 Update on Malani's bill. We are currently at $315 covered. Leaving $325 left.

The Cardiologist contacted me today to go over the results of Malani's echo in depth and is recommending more testing for her heart.

We CANNOT do this if we don't have the funds. We REALLY need your help right now!!

I guess I'm going to try adding the donate button back to our page (Meta charges us fees for it now through PayPal Giving Fund 🙄) but it seemed to have worked better for raising funds for Vet bills. We will give it a try. For now:

UPDATE: SANDI HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!

As promised.......meet Sandi!

🐾 **Name**: Sandi
🎂 **Age**: 5 years old
🌟 **Breed**: Yorkie Mix
🏡 **Favorite Spot**: Curled up on the your lap or playing with toys!
🍖 **Favorite Treat**: pretty much any treat you give me 😁
🎾 **Favorite Toy**: loves the crinkly toys
💖 **Personality**: Sweet, playful, and incredibly loyal
🎓 **Special Talent**: loves to run up to you and flip on her back real quick to give you her chunky belly 🤣

Sandi is a bundle of joy and sunshine wrapped in golden fur. She loves nothing more than spending time with her ADULT humans, whether it’s playing a game of fetch, going on long walks, or simply snuggling up for a movie night. Her big, soulful eyes and wagging tail can melt anyone’s heart.

Sandi gets along with other dogs, and even cats now (pretty sure she never saw them before here 🤣). Sandi needs a home with NO SMALL CHILDREN AT ALL! Not even ones visiting. She doesn't like them one bit! She prefers adults. And can be a little "shy" when you first meet her. She is very "talkative" which many mistake for her being aggressive. She's not!

Adopt Sandi, and you’ll not only get a loyal companion but also a best friend who will always greet you with a wagging tail and a whole lot of love!

Sandi is approximately 13 lbs which the vet says is right about where she should be 💞 I call her my "chunky lowrider" 🤣 she is up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, spayed and microchipped. She is being fostered near Merrill, WI and her adoption fee is $450.

If you would like to add Sandi to your family, you can apply for her at:

Off to Green Bay we go! We had 1 $100 donation toward Malani's echo today. Thank you SO much. Every $1 counts!

That still leaves about $540 uncovered 🥺 we really need help covering vet bills guys or we will not be able to operate any longer.

Alot of places are going to not covering spay/neuter anymore cuz of the costs. We can't see doing that. So we really need your help!

💥💥DONATIONS NEEDED FOR MALANI 🥺

Many of you remember Malani. But for those who haven't heard her story.

Malani came to me at 3 months old, she was a breeder release from an Amish due to not being able to sell her because of a "slight" heart murmur. Their "vet" even noted that on her CVI. But when I got her in my arms, I could tell her "slight" heart murmur, was a lot more than "slight" because I could FEEL it in my hand. The next day, I took her to our normal vet and she was diagnosed with a grade 5/6 heart murmur. I was then referred to get her in for an echo asap. I took her to the University of Minnesota and had her 1st echo done.

She was then diagnosed with ventricular septal defect (as explained to me, a hole in her heart). They advised another echo done in a year or 2 to see if the hole closed itself or if she would need surgery or medication the rest of her life. The decision was made at that time that Malani would be a "permanent foster".

Malani has been doing "well" as long as we keep her from playing too hard or getting too excited. Lately her episodes of coughing from getting worked up have been getting worse. She doesn't have to do much at all for them to start.

I reached out from a referral to Dr. Miller at Lakeland Veterinary Imaging to see if she would be willing to do the echo. She has agreed to. We have an estimate of $640 for the exam and diagnostic testing. Her appointment is Wednesday November 6th at 10am in Green Bay.

Donations are WAY down right now and we need YOUR help to get this testing done for Miss Malani. Every $1 counts! If you can't donate, PLEASE SHARE!

Did you know that you can foster-to-adopt? With so many hurricane shelter animals coming in from the South it's even more critical to help the animals within Wisconsin to find foster homes or better yet; adopters! By getting one kennel open we make room for one more that's been waiting! If you've ever considered fostering now is the time to make the leap. We can walk you through it step by step. Send us a message and we'll get you started! *Photo of one that's waiting to get into a foster home*.

💥For those who have been wondering why we no longer have the "donate" button on FB. They took it away awhile ago and have added it back probably 6 months or so ago.

If it gets re-linked, it HAS to be through Meta Pay which is now linked with PayPal Giving Fund. They take out fees (even for us non-profits 🙄) which is an absolute joke! So not many have set it back up. Thus the reason we have the other links posted and pinned to the top of the page and ask you to please use them to donate.

We do have a PayPal Giving Fund account setup on PayPal, but we don't use it due to them taking out fees. It's $0.99 per $25. Remember we always say every $1 counts? It really begins to add up!! Especially when donations are at an all time low. So please use the PayPal listed instead of searching for it.

Thank you from all of the pups at Rescue For Life! 💥

UPDATE: Taz is out of surgery and recovering and slowly waking up with us in "his" room. He did and is doing very well!

It's NEUTER DAY 🥳 when I pulled my phone out and told Taz I need a picture for all of his fans, well....you can see by the 1st picture what he did 🤣 so much character in this guy!

It's also ADOPTION DAY 💞 after Taz's neuter is complete (the vet is allowing us to stay with him the whole time minus the actual procedure and we can take him home as soon as he can walk) we will sign the official adoption paperwork!

I have decided to waive Taz's adoption fee since this family has done so much for him already since January and with donations, his vetting has almost been completely covered!

Thank you to EVERYONE who has donated to help him get to where he needs to be. It truly does take a community to help dogs like Taz.

I will update at the top of this post when he gets released. They just took him back for surgery. We are the only people here at this time (they even locked the door so noone can come in 💞)
