2 x 2 Rescue is dedicated to bettering the lives of overlooked, neglected, or special needs shelter animals. It is our belief that some animals need more attention with medical, social, or behavioral issues than most shelters are willing or able to give. We are dedicated to educating the public about the animals in need, and how they can help. Prevention and education are the key factors in animal

care. Each animal deserves the perfect forever home and it is our commitment to them that we find it.

2 x 2 Rescue was founded by two like minded woman animal lovers. After years in the shelter environment, it became clear that some of the animals that were most in need were being overlook for various reasons. It was then that Victoria Beasley and Tara Stanley decided they would determine who most needed help with medical, behavioral, and social issues. It will be at a time when the animal is well mentally and physically that it will be placed in a forever home. We are completely based out of foster homes, and we do not have a physical shelter that you can come and visit.

**If you are interested in an animal, the first step is to fill out an adoption application at: http://bit.ly/WxYi8a. Once your app is submitted someone from our rescue will contact you. Our adoption fees are as follows:

Adult Dog (1 year and older) - $400.00
Puppy ( Less than 1 year old) - $400.00
Adult Cat - $150.00
Kitten - $150.00

PLEASE NOTE - We are a volunteer based rescue, all of the members, fosters and officers of this rescue have jobs and families. Please be patient, as some days are busier than others and application review can take a little more time. We look for the best application for each pet, we are NOT a first come, first served group. ALSO, please contact your vet and personal references and let them know we will be calling, in order to expedite the review process.

Sigmoid is a neutered male tuxedo kitten that is available for adoption. He has been with us since about 4 weeks of age. His intake was back in November. His facial expressions, I believe, are what has held him back from being adopted. He has a grumpy face in all of his pictures. Sigmoid is a great kitten, and he deserves a loving home to grow into a beautiful cat.

Maryland is available for adoption. She is a spayed female pittie puppy. She is good with dogs and cats and kids. Maryland is named after the street she was found on as a stray last year. She came to us severely underweight and malnourished. Her past neglect never did affect her temperament, and she has overcome so much trauma to get to where she is today. Maryland is a strong girl on a leash, rides great in the car, and loves to chew bones and Kong toys. She is on monthly parasite prevention and gets much need daily exercise with her foster sibling. Maryland has been with us since October 5th, 2024, and she is turning ONE this month! For her birthday 🎂 she would love to have a home of her own.

Abu. He is a 2 year old catten who is blind and bold. He is fostered with other cats and dogs. Abu is named after the monkey from Disney's Aladin. He has a crazy tail that he holds flat over his back like a monkey. 🐒 Abu is a playful, healthy, social catten. His only quirk is that he doesn't like to be lifted up, that scares him, and we want him to feel safe. His foster mom is working on his comfort by lifting him and carrying him every day. He will soon realize this is no big deal. Abu navigates stairs, plays with toys, climbs the cat tree, and participates in many activities that people assume a blind cat would skip. Churro is a neutered male large mixed breed gentleman. When we say large, what we mean is obese. This poor dog was overfed and under worked. Have you ever heard the saying "Kill them with kindness"? That is what was happening with Churro. Since coming to us, he has been on a diet with an exercise plan, and so far, it is working! He was not even able to go up the stairs in the house on his first day. We had to check bloodwork on him, including thyroid levels. His labwork looks great. Our veterinarian started him on joint support and pain medication because his bone structure was not able to support his body mass at the point where he was when he arrived.
Churro is now fully vetted on monthly parasite prevention and has lost a significant amount of weight. He chases toys in the yard and goes up and down stairs readily. The next chapter in his life will be finding a forever home with a family who will not over feed him and who will make sure he gets daily exercise to avoid him regaining the weight he has lost. He is fostered with other dogs and cats.

*We are unsure on his breed mixture and would love to see a DNA test on him! Our guess is lab and chow type mix, but we just don't know!
