Meet Butch!
Approx 4 years old
Housebroken crate trained
Good with dogs cats and kids.
Ready for a home 🏠
Good news in the midst of all the Danes in the world.
Happy news
BETSY has been adopted!!!
She is the MCACC east shelter foster who was injured and going kennel crazy!
We were able to rehabilitate her, socialize her, train her.
She lives in a home with a dog and kiddo sibling to pal around with!
Always remember to advocate for your kids safety and TRAIN around dogs!
Ten minutes a day hand feed the first three weeks, crate them, and keep a leash dragging on your dog for safety!
What will it take to get a good dog, who is great in a home environment to get a home?
Adopt me, please! I’ve been homeless almost six MONTHS
I am in foster right now, and I love being in a home! 🏡
🙏
Hi, my name is Betsy! Petite little things about 39lbs and 2-3 years (approx, unknown age since from county)
I’m great with dogs and kids.
I am ok with crate and rotate observing my new friend, Mylo, the cat!
I’m fully housebroken and crate trained.
I love fetch! I have a really low adoption fee that goes to Maricopa County Animal Care & Control
Update on County Maricopa County Animal Care & Control
GUS BUS
“
Gus was 89.4lbs at his weigh in today!!! He has shrunk through one harness. He also has no Collie in him
“
Goal weight will be about 60lbs more or less
MENTAL ILLNESS AND HOARDING BEHAVIORS
Huge HUGE red flags and found in many rescuers.
Please, read up on Maricopa County laws and REPORT hoardlike behaviors to MCACC AND THE AHS!
There are county limits to how many animals one can have long term.
I want to make it clear that I am wholeheartedly a supporter of animal rescue. This article is about irresponsible rescue practices that sadly are becoming more and more common.
Chevy is SO EXCITED
He gets to hangout on the big porch. Fresh air, green trees and grass!
No more life on a chain for you sweet boy! You’re officially home 🏡
67 dogs will BE DEAD in the next five days
Only YOU can help.
Foster or adopt
The animals listed below are considered a priority as they are at risk of euthanasia in the shelter if they do not find an immediate outlet. He will get to be free and roam on a nice big property with other dogs! 🐶 🐕
So so so bittersweet.
Such An amazing dog.
Officially the last dog of the year 2023 has been adopted. (Yes, last year!)
We have not been doing ANY intakes, which has been extremely difficult! We take Owner surrenders of previously adopted dogs whose owners can’t keep them on a case by case basis, OMLY when we get a foster offer.
We are not currently intaking anymore dogs under Better Chance Rescue as I pursue my career as a Veterinarian.
As always we will share foster and help how we can.
We will be offering short term “boarding breaks” for other rescues and short term holds for owners who want to KEEP THEIR PETS but need temporary low cost housing.
SHOUTOUT To
Bark If You’re Dirty Az for the pet food donations!
Our rescue dogs appreciate it!

This sweet boy is Bruno, he was returned to our rescue after his owner fell on unfortunate times.
He is a 9 month old 11lb Italian greyhound, long legs and all.
He ended up stuck at a homeless shelter, but a wonderful foster was able to hold him until he could be back with us.
He is super sweet, takes treats gently, likes to go on walks and does best with other dogs. He is gentle around cats and kids, too, I am so impressed with this sweet boy!
We leave a leash on at ALL TIMES on these dogs for safety as the Fourth of July is here. Please keep your pet safe.

Mothers Day Miracle 💙🐶🏠🥰🐶👩🧍♀️🐶💙 15 minutes is the difference between reuniting a dog with their owner and a dog getting adopted out never to be seen by her mom again. Her paperwork did not have a microchip listed which was a huge red flag, we immediately scanned her and went to work. Rescues and fosters, PLEASE Maricopa County Animal Care & Control I hope more steps are taken to reunited dogs with owners! This EASILY could have been a reunification story through mcacc! Do your due diligence to find owner! This sweet girl Ruby WAS REGISTERED to her owner and had ALL CURRENT MICROCHIP INFORMATION! Two 6 minute phone calls to microchip company and an email with a response from owner within 3 minutes. We called the owner, it was a spam number Phone numbers change all the time. But a simple email and this girl will be reunited in a few short weeks. We emailed and got a phone call within 3 minutes Ruby now Lucy was reunited with her mom. Unfortunately, her grandson did not like Lacy and let her go while attempting to load her in a vehicle because she gets nervous and would scream and nervous pee everywhere. The grandson was loading her in a car while she was in rehabilitation for a major knee replacement that had some complications which led to a delayed recovery. He didn’t like her and completely let her go and told his grandma he didn’t like her and let her go. Miss Lucy will spend the next two weeks with us and Mallory Brown with Wiggle Mutts Dog Training Mallory has done amazing work so far in the first 24 hours with her foster and she will continue to offer FREE TRAINING to trim her nails, go on walks daily, to see a full service veterinarian regarding her weight and keep this girl in her forever home. #adoptdontshop #microchipswork #microchipyourpets #reunited #ifeelgoodchallenge #rehabilitation #animallover #homeforgood #lost #lostpet #LostPetRecovery #founddog #founddogs #doglivesmatter

Happy adoption day Sammy Aka Gomer Aka Sammykins! He was adopted by one of our former adopters who got Curly from us this past January! Curly is just a puppy, but Sammy is the perfect match for him!
Sammy still needs a forever home! Rare footage of him actually playing and not just doing zoomies in the yard
This is what we do, endless repetition, making things a good experience, and a lot of exposure hours, and hours and hours of work. All of this work goes unnoticed, and I didn’t realize that until just now . It won’t fix all of the problems, but it sure helps with some activity. Chevy will never be a fan of strangers we’ve got him to coexist with those who ignore him. He has consistently done the same thing. Every time he will bark and growl and lunch at strangers who want to, come up to him and get in his face and want to say hi while he is super cute and adorable and has a goofy personality. He just will never be like that with strangers. We have accepted this about Chevy and we have worked with him very hard. It takes him about a week to get fully used to you and we will supply the adopters with free training whenever the time comes we know how he is and it’s going to take a very long time for his new home owner to work with him if he just lives in a house with other dogs and doesn’t get out that would be totally OK for him. If he gets to go out often, we would just muzzle him for his safety and others And go on adventures to explore. He has an extremely reduced adoption fee, because at this point, we just want him to find his forever home. He is amazing with other dogs no cats allowed. If you want to meet him, even just to go on a walk at Tempe marketplace to be that stranger for him so we can get some practice, what we would have, you do is walk parallel next to us we slide you the leash and you go about your day walking him and we give you space to go on a walk don’t touch him don’t interact with him just simply walk him , it creates really good exposure, knowing that humans can walk you yes and they will not touch you or interact with you completely neutral, going for a walk and learning that strangers aren’t bad. This is a result of him being on a chain for the first nine months of his life he lived outdoors. He never knew love, he was
Outing with Chevy! His meet and greet yesterday went phenomenal so we are going to go out and meet with Dad again!!! For those of you who wonder what we do, we never get a chance to video it, because we’re so focused on the dogs, so I set this up to show you what we do at all of the thresholds in and out of all doors, in and out of all cars, we muzzle him for safety, knowing that he’s had a rough past. We don’t want people to come up to us so we muzzle him. It just gives him some space And keeps people from asking silly questions like can I pet your dog when he clearly doesn’t like strangers. Not everyone understands body language, so we advocate for our dogs by muzzle training them, this one slightly big for him, but we would rather it be too big than too small.
