Breed of the Week: RETRIEVERS 🤎🐾

Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, and Flat-Coated Retrievers — some of our absolute favorites here at DiamondPaws. A few of these sweet pups are no longer with us, but they’ll always live in our hearts. 🤍🌈

It’s no surprise these pups are loved by everyone:
🔹 Labrador Retrievers have been America’s most popular breed for decades
🔹 Golden Retrievers are always right near the top
🔹 And Flat-Coats… the playful, happy-go-lucky gems of the Retriever world

Retrievers were originally bred from the Sporting Group to help hunters — retrieving game gently and safely. That’s where their athleticism, intelligence, and famously soft “gentle mouth” come from.

Today, those same traits make them incredible family dogs:
⭐ Smart
⭐ Trainable
⭐ Energetic
⭐ Social
⭐ And always eager to please

🎆 Fireworks & Furry Friends Don't Always Mix 🐾

Loud booms and bright flashes can be scary for dogs, sometimes causing them to panic and bolt—jumping fences or slipping out doors they’d normally ignore.

Keep your pets safe and calm this holiday with these tips:

🐶 🛑 Create a cozy hideaway – A quiet closet or crate with their favorite blanket can help them feel secure.

🌿 🧁 Use calming aids – Try CBD treats or talk to your vet about anxiety meds ahead of time.

📺 🎶 Drown out the noise – Turn on calming music or the TV to help mask the fireworks.

🔖 🐕 Check ID tags – Make sure your pet’s ID tags are current just in case they get spooked and run.
