Well y’all! We have reached the time to dry off Mable, Lola, and Peanut! They are ready for their “vacation” to rest, heal and prepare for their next calves due in the fall. Lola and Mable will be dried off next week and Peanut the following week. This will put us into a possible shortage on client schedule orders, please do not procrastinate your pick ups until the 3pm cut off to ensure you get your order😬

IF NOT ON THE SCHEDULE PLEASE DO NOT JUST SHOW UP AT OUR HOUSE! WE ARE NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. ITS A PRIVATE RANCH AND WE DO LOTS MORE HERE THAN SELL MILK. WE MUST KNOW YOU ARE ON THE WAY WITH AN ETA

1) WE ARE NOT ADDING TO OUR CLIENT SCHEDULE ANYMORE

2) IF ON THE SCHEDULE WE CANNOT INCREASE YOUR PICKUP AMOUNT ONGOING! ORDERS ARE FROZEN UNLESS DECREASING AMOUNT OR CANCELLING ALL TOGETHER

3) WE ARE NOT SHIFTING DAYS AROUND ON THE SCHEDULE! (WE CANNOT SWITCH YOUR PICKUP DAY TO ANOTHER DAY…IF YOU CANT MAKE IT YOU MUST SKIP THE WEEK)

4) IF WE ARE NOT NOTIFIED 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF INABILITY TO PICK UP WE CANNOT KEEP YOU ON THE SCHEDULE. SORRY NOT FOR ANY REASON!

5) IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO PICK UP YOUR RESERVED MILK BEFORE 3PM PLEASE CANCEL YOUR PICKUPS….WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE ANY LATER THAN 3PM

6) WE DO NOT ANTICIPATE HAVING ANY EXTRA MILK FOR A FEW MONTHS AND TO BE HONEST SOME WILL HAVE TO DECREASE THEIR PICK UP AMOUNTS.

7) WE CARE ABOUT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU LIKE FAMILY SO WE WILL NOT MAKE EXCEPTIONS AT ALL SO ITS ALWAYS FAIR

8 ) NO MORE FUNNELING. If the jar deposit is a hardship for you let us know and we will work it out. If you can dump easily into a wide mouth container of your choice that is fine…but if it needs a funnel please dont bring it along.

Anyone remember our rooster “Foghorn”? He still stays on the outer perimeter of the farm….definitely wasnt ready to die like we pretty much assumed a few months ago. I now believe he was just tired of everyone’s crap! He left the coop to make a new family of his own😂 He does still sleep in the big coop but at first daylight he runs across the pasture to his lady love and her 3 chicks. He spends most of the day with the babies while mama goes about her day frolicking with the other hens. He is seriously the best rooster and he is a LEGHORN🐓

Oh my deliciousness! Well…I proved my cousin wrong…you can absolutely screw up jam! (I knew I did it as soon as I canned it…so I made another batch correctly) BUT I sent an SOS message to one of my Moms friends hoping for advice on re-doing the bad batch and she suggested putting it over cream cheese! This is seriously beyond yummy! Apricot drenched cream cheese with crackers🤤

Checked in on all the extracts I started over the last year😍. I also added another 12oz batch of organic vanilla extract to the shelf to work its magic over the next 12 months and then made 8 pounds of Vanilla Sugar🤤

I can finally get my freeze dryer back up and running!!
It was making the workroom so hot that we would have to open the patio door to run it during the winter time therefore we wouldnt even consider attempting a summer run! Today my amazing cousins got us a nice little mini split installed and now tomorrow I will be getting busy again!

Look what we got!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

This beautiful little registered Jersey heifer calf needs a new name! Well she has a “name”, we have been calling her Blondie after her Dam. Her “new” family was supposedly planning to keep the name. However, she is now weaned and ready to leave and her “new” family backed out on picking her up!!! We have decided to KEEP HER to complete our herd as our 15th family milk cow!!!
She will stay and grow up with her best friend Miss Cora BUT we need to call her something other than Blondie🤪

Yesterday Jalynn and I processed only half of our apricots (25 pounds) 😬
We washed, pitted and sliced 2 full XL trays for the freezer (to prefreeze for freeze drying) and we started Apricot and Apricot-Lavendar Jam for this afternoon’s project.

🍑🫐Ummmm….I still have 25 more pounds of Apricots and 5 pounds of blueberries to get through before I move onto the 40 pounds of cherries calling my name🍒

C’mon send some yummy recipes!

We let the girls into the alleyway today for some shade while we had irrigation. Daisy, Mable, and Peanut even found a fresh, clean, and unoccupied pen to relax in. These girls crack me up…they all thought they were in big trouble when I walked out to do chores😂🐄

Yesss!! Found something I can do even with a sore back! Washed and prepped one flat (12 pints) of Oregon blueberries and got them in the freezer to pre-freeze for the freeze dryer.
Tonight I will make a ton of blueberry pancakes to freeze for a quick grab breakfast! Jalynn is planning to make blueberry muffins tonight and Lil B got nominated to make blueberry cobbler🫐🫐
