Spraying and neutering pets in our communities can have several important benefits:
1. Population Control: These procedures help manage the pet population, reducing the numbers of unwanted animals.
2. Health Benefits: Spraying (for females) and neutering (males) can reduce the risk of certain health issues, such as cancers and infections.
3. Behavioral Improvements: Neutered males are often less aggressive and less likely to roam, while sprayed females won’t go into heat, reducing unwanted behaviors that can lead to conflicts with neighbors or issues within the community.
Overall, spraying and neutering pets can contribute to healthier pets, safer communities, and more sustainable environment for both animals and people.
We appreciate those that have traveled far to volunteer their time here in Mesaclero, we have visitors from the states of Washington State and as far as New Hampshire as well as our own Conservation Officers as well.

Mescalero Apache Tribe

The Mescalero people were nomadic hunters and gathers and roamed the Southwest. They were experts in guerrilla warfare and highly skilled horsemen. The women were known for their ability to find and prepare food from many different plant sources. The people were given the name "Mescalero" because they gathered and ate the mescal plant. It was the staple of their diets and could sustain them in good times and bad.
