We always say “we have some really great cats in our rescue”, we really do!! Peaches was really turning on the charm today. Shes a sweet little girl who is roughly 6 years old. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. Yet, like most of our adult cats, always gets passed by for the kitten room. I’m not sure she has ever had anyone put in an application for her 😢. She would love nothing more than to have a forever home of her own. Is this the holiday season where she finally gets some applications? We’d love for you to stop by, meet Peachy and all of our cats! Trying to have a quiet moment with Polly, but down below Holly has the biscuit factory at full operation. These good friends have very different personalities. Polly does not like to be pet, while Holly will snuggle all day if she can. Each is a sweetheart and very loved at Meshoppen CAT Rescue .

Meshoppen CAT Rescue is in need of additional adult volunteers. We are currently caring for over 100 cats on site, with an additional 30 off site. Our volunteers also feed and shelter homeless cats in the community. Each week, we receive a dozen requests from community members to assist with abandoned cats, unwanted kittens and injured and sick animals. The rescue is volunteer staffed and supported by donations. We receive no municipal support, nor are we able to employ a professional fund raising expert. We sacrifice convenience to ensure that every dollar is used to benefit the cats. Our organization cannot exist without committed volunteers. Even a few additional volunteers working a few days a month will be a tremendous benefit. In fact, it's a necessity. We're seeking the owner of this young male cat. He'd been out introducing himself to the fine lady cats to the east of Meshoppen, but he's now safe and secured. He's friendly, though still a bit confused and sedate in our care. He has a head tilt and a small white marking on his chest. Please message the rescue is you have information.

Over a million people live within an hour's drive of Meshoppen CAT Rescue, and yet we have kittens that are growing up in the rescue. A six month old kitten has a low chance of being adopted, continually overlooked in favor of younger kittens. We love our kittens dearly, but we don't wish for them to spend their lives here. Keeping your cats indoors not only keeps them safe, but also allows small animals to thrive. Bizzy the chipmunk likes to check in several times a day, especially when there's a peanut in the mix.
