There are not a lot of changes in the Bubba and Norma Echols place. This is coming from Trudy Kremer, I moved to Las Cruces in Sept. of 2013, it has been a job just keeping up with the maintenance. I bought the place from Mom and she moved to South Dakota and lived with Colonel until she felt the end was near and then he brought her back to Las Cruces where she spent her last days and is now buri

ed with Dad at the Picacho Cemetery. There are still a few stalls for people going through, good idea to check before hand though. I do have horses here, some are mine, and some college kids are boarding. One of the grandkids, Chance Hine, lives here and sometimes has roping cattle.

It is that time of year again! Pine River Arena has changed from Thursday to Tuesday night gymkana! Then Wednesday night you can head out to the True Western Roundup, and Thursdays go to the Pagosa Night Rodeo and still have your weekends open for Buffalo Arena and Roping Productions! The first Bayfield gymkana will be 4-28, and then May 7 & 21, June 4 & 25, July 16 is the last one.

The weekend started out pretty cold, Fridays lessons were moved to Saturday, and then Sunday, which was good because Sunday was very nice. Weather wise. The first student and I were just riding, my little blue mare was hanging in the trees and not with the group, but she is pretty dominant, so not unusual. As we rode closer, her good back leg was not the one she was resting on so we rode closer. It looked broke and was broke.
No matter who and no matter when, it is always painful to lose any of these guys. I have two good babies from her, and Nikki has one so she will leave us with lots to remember her by.

Gypsy had some dreadlocks going on because she was a little wild, after about a month of Mika K Tozerworking with her and riding her, she had a different mindset and it was possible to comb and braid her mane.

When I started this page, I had bought my folks place in Las Cruces. It was a beautiful place with 18 stalls, a house, swimming pool, arena, not much snow in the winter. My dad had been gone for about 15-20 years and it did need some upkeep, which was a lot of work and a pleasure putting it all back together. But as it happens sometimes in families, it is easier to let something go than to be continually putting out fires with people that don’t want something and then don’t want anyone else to have it either.

My goal wasn’t to build up a horse herd, horses are just a part of me I would be crippled without so the herd did grow.
Here are a few horses I enjoy, whether because I am riding them, or just watching the grandkids ride, or giving lessons.

You don’t have to be a Mozart, a Dolly Parton, or a Picasso to create. Just create to be creative.
Create to remind yourself that you are still alive and can imagine. Make stuff to inspire others to make stuff. Paint something to learn about colors. Mold something to feel the clay in your hands. Write the story you want to read.

Being creative is less about the end product and more about the process, the time away from other thoughts, the willingness to be open to mistakes.
Create to learn a little bit more about yourself.

This lady came from CA, she runs barrels out there on a horse she leases, she took several C4 horses around the pattern to get a different feel, also rode outside for a while!

Right now with the horse industry going so well, we have a few horses we are putting some time in on, it is good to expose them to as much as we can!

This page has stayed pretty quiet for awhile. A lot of reasons, the main one being it is hard to have a lot of drama and stay focused and positive! My goal is to cut out the drama and work on focus and positivity! So stay tuned.
