We will remain open during the Covid-19 outbreak as the Texas State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners and the American Veterinary Medical Association states that we are an essential business. To follow CDC and Texas guidelines for social distancing, South Mesquite Veterinary Hospital is implementing Curbside Care for all of your veterinary needs! It is important that we keep our clients and medical team safe while providing your beloved pets with the care that they need.

Only the hospital team and your pets will be permitted inside our building when you receive curbside service while waiting inside your vehicle.

When you arrive, please call the hospital at 972-289-0681, to inform us of your arrival. A staff member will meet you at your vehicle to collect your pet and bring them inside the clinic.

While you remain in your vehicle, we will contact you via phone or video chat (if you prefer) to obtain a medical history on your pet’s condition.

Dr. Pirrung will examine your pet and make a treatment plan based on the history and physical exam findings

A staff member will contact you to provide you with a treatment plan for service. We will text or email it for your review. As usual, treatments will only be performed with your consent.

When your pet is ready to go home, we will bring your pet to you in your vehicle. If you are paying with credit card we can take payment over the phone, otherwise we will help you check out from your vehicle. You may pay using credit card, debit card or cash.

For clients picking up medications, please call the clinic when you are in the parking lot and we will bring your items to your vehicle. We will check you out from the comfort of your vehicle.

Our online store is always available as an option for prescription and food refills. These are sent directly to your house.

Please try to keep at least a 2 week supply of food, preventatives, and prescriptions on hand in case you are quarantined.
