We’re excited to welcome Bill Baker to the Fritz Aquatics team as our new West Coast Sales Representative!
Bill brings over 20 years of experience in the pet industry, a passion for aquatics, and a background in molecular biology from the University of Chicago.
He started out as an Aquatic Specialist at Petco and has done just about every job on the retail side since, including managing the service department at Aquatic World in Chicago—one of the city’s top aquarium maintenance companies—and working as a buyer and general manager for stores in and around Chicago.
Most recently, Bill worked with Ming Trading, where he not only quadrupled sales in his first year but also became National Sales Manager. During that time, he worked closely with Fritz to grow our presence in the Midwest and West Coast. That’s why we’re especially thrilled to have him join our team.

When he’s not helping customers or sharing his aquatics expertise, Bill enjoys lifting weights and coaching youth soccer.

We’re excited to welcome Ruston Hartdegen to Fritz Aquatics as our new Professional Aquatics Sales Manager! With 28+ years of zoological experience, including leadership roles at the Dallas Zoo and Children’s Aquarium Dallas, Ruston brings unmatched expertise in animal husbandry, conservation and professional aquatics.

Ruston will play a key role in expanding the Vitalis Aquatic Nutrition line to the U.S. market as well as our flagship FritzZyme® biological products, RPM salt and other pro aquatics products. His passion for conservation and deep industry knowledge make him a perfect fit for our mission to innovate and support professional aquatics facilities worldwide.

When he’s not working, Ruston enjoys hiking, herping (searching for amphibians and reptiles) and practicing taekwondo.

We're so glad Sea Turtle Recovery is back up and running! Keep up the good work! ❤️

Shout out to for helping STR get our Life Support System ready for patients again! After the lightning strike and fire, our aquatic life support system was completely shut down and cleaned. During that process we lost our established biological filter. Mike and the team over at Fritz Aquatic generously donated their Turbo Start Saltwater 900 10x to get us up and running again! This concentrated bottle of beneficial nitrifying bacteria instantly re-established our bio filter to help remove waste from the water. We were able to bring our patients back from their temporary holding in NY and are now up to 29 new patients from the busy cold stun season.
