Buck is currently being fostered for us by The Brown Spot, and he is doing wonderful! Buck is a 2 year old beagle, he loves his doggie friends and is ready to find his forever home! Buck is neutered and has all vaccines. If you are interested in meeting him please contact us or The Brown Spot
Meet our boy Joshua. Josh came to the shelter as a stray. He is 1.5-2 years old Shepard mix. He is neutered up to date on all vaccines. He does well with other dogs however we do recommend a meet and greet if you have other dogs in the home. He loves people and enjoys his long walks. He is so ready to find his forever home! Please consider coming up and meeting Joshua. We will be at the shelter Saturday morning from 9-am to noon. If interested and Saturday does not work for you please private message us and we can certainly make other arrangements.

This sweet girl named Hazel showed up at someone’s house and was never claimed. She is desperately looking for a forever home. 
She is approx 2 years old, house broken, sits/shake/come commands, very gentle, extremely smart, gets along with my dogs and after a few days my cat. She likes ride in the car and go. She is super sweet.

We have a dog that needs to be transported to a rescue Saturday morning to Franklin Indiana at 9:30am. You’d need to be at the shelter between 7:45-8am, it’s about an hour and 15 minutes away from the shelter. It’s a small/medium sized dog. Please let us know if you can do this for us! We will pay for your gas

Our rescue currently has three part time staff who are paid through National Able Network and we are in need of a few more help us out! We are especially in need of people Monday through Friday.
Duties include light cleaning; including cages, litter boxes, feeding as well as socializing cats and kittens as they prepare for their furever families. Work as few or as many hours as you’d like! This sweet guy is Killian! He is approximately 2 years old, and is a lab mix. He is neutered and has all vaccines. Killian is such a sweet boy, he loves all the volunteers and going on walks, he is also dog friendly!

Little Miss Mocha got to have a sleepover last night with some of our volunteers! 💤🐶 they were able to learn so much about her! They learned:
• She LOVES other dogs
• She is very chill for a puppy— super go with the flow and demonstrated good impulse control
• She did great in a crate overnight (no accidents in the crate!)
• She is very affectionate
• She listens well and is very intelligent & intuitive
• She showed respect for the other dogs boundaries
• She’s very playful
Mocha is approximately 6 mos old. She is spayed and up to date on all shots. She’d make the perfect addition to any family! Come see Mocha Monday or Thursday 5-7 or Saturday 9-11!

Draco -
He's a Very Large blue nose, full blooded pitbull. He was born in January of 2017.
We don't know the exact day as he was brought home by one of my son's that planned on keeping him but that didn't work out.
He's a very laid back and super loving dog but he's not used to being around alot of people.
He has had an entire family of people to love him and play with him until recently and he's been happy.
He's perfectly potty trained as long as he's on a set schedule.
He does stress easy so he doesn't care for screaming or yelling at all.
He's always been good with the kids I've had him around but that wasn't many and he's so big that I tried to make sure he wasn't around babies.
To whomever wants to love this Big Baby, please know he'll be making a drastic adjustment for the first few wks to mnths after you get him as he's never been away from the family he's always been with and
He has a son that is being rehomed as well and they've never been apart since Gunner was born so please be understanding to and for him, Thank You ahead of time for giving him patience and time😊

Gunner-
He was born around the first of December of 2018.
He is Draco's pup and is half miniature black lab.
He's much smaller than Draco but is still just as playful and crazy as a new pup.
He loves cuddles and playing in the floor and toys.
He's a bit on the sketchy side tho.
He doesn't care to be around alot of people and loud noises.
He loves looking out windows and going for rides.
He's still got so many yrs in him to love and play that he needs more space and a bigger place to run.
If someone is interested in taking this loving baby in, he will give you so much love.
Both pets have not been to a vet, the shelter would be more than happy to help with their medical care if someone takes them!
Meet Nigel!
Many of you know Nigel has been with us for quite some time now. Nigel is approximately 8 years old now, neutered and has all vaccines
We have previously labeled him as dog aggressive, but our amazing volunteers have spent lots of time with him getting him to warmed up to other dogs. We believe Nigel has NEVER met a dog in his life and just does not know how to react. With time he has made great progress with SLOW introductions. He is not aggressive, but reactive. The difference between those two things is, he does not try to attack the other dogs and be aggressive, he just becomes very vocal and unsure, which is reactive. We do believe Nigel can be adopted to a home with another dog, BUT that owner needs to be dedicated to making it work by doing things very slowly, and understanding that he is new to this and just needs time. He is a fantastic dog, we are excited with the progress he has made and hope his forever home will come soon!💕🐾

OMG! This girl is absolutely gorgeous. she is a two year old full-blooded Alaskan malamute and her name is MIKA. Due to unforeseen circumstances, she needs to be rehomed. She is a high energy dog so either needs a fenced in yard or a lot of exercise daily. She does well on a leash, loves her chew toys, does well with other dogs, but is a dominant female. She is crate trained and loves people Including kids. She does have a little food aggression so needs to be fed separately from other dogs.. We are looking for a foster for this old gal. Her name is Cookie and she is pretty old, her owner has unfortunately passed away so now she is at the shelter with us. The shelter is no place for a dog like her, she needs a warm comfy couch to sleep on. She seems to do fine with other dogs, she also appears to be partially blind. We are still hoping a family member will come forward and want to take her, but until then we’d like to get her into a foster home. Look at this handsome pooch. Archie is approximately 6 years old, neutered and has all vaccines. Archie is such a wiggle butt and loves everyone. He is being fostered at The Brown Spot and has been around lots of dogs, he loves his play buddies!!! This poor guy was diagnosed with lumbosacral dgeneration. It affects his back legs, when Archie gets too much exercise he can get a little wobbly on his back legs, he will need to be on an Anti-Inflammatory for the rest of his life (it is not expensive) to keep him comfortable. He is still the happiest boy and it definitely does not slow him down🤣 He is the happiest boy and deserves to be in his forever home where he can relax and give lots of love. Sweet Callum is enjoying his stay at The Brown Spot!  Callum is about two years old and is a very sweet boy.
