This handsome boy is Cal. He is the total package! He has been with a foster for a couple days. Here is what his foster has to say:

•SUCH A GOOD BOY!!!!! Can’t believe how well behaved he is for his age.
•loves to ride in the car (per his picture riding shotgun above)
•did great getting a bath and nail trim.
•knows sit and comes when called
•very comfortable in his crate and rests comfortably and quietly at night.
•potty trained.
•absolutely LOVES toys and chew toys to keep him busy - this is a must in his new home.
•catahoula / Pitt mix, about 1 year old, roughly 60 pounds

•needs to be in a home with no children or children above 12 years of age.

Can someone please find it in their heart to foster or adopt Rowan. He came into the shelter as a stray and is our longest resident. He is a 11 year-old man that needs his last years to be in a home and loved. Looking at this short video when he was in a home temporarily since we had to evacuate the shelter, he is a totally different dog and looks so happy and this breaks our hearts that he is still at the shelter.   the temporary Foster that had him indicated that he was fine with their dogs and is mostly potty trained so may need a little refresher. Seems interested in cats, but no aggression. please help Rowan!!! He’s about 60lbs

WOW! Our community is AMZING!! We had about 25 cars show up to help with the dogs. We got all the dogs out of the shelter and safely into foster homes in a matter of minutes! 👏👏👏 A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came to help.

Update - THANK YOU everyone, all dogs have been placed We are so grateful for everyone of you 

URGENT-
We need placement for shelter dogs ASAP. This field is right across from the shelter, the river has overtaken the field, we are terribly worried the shelter is going to flood since it is now up to the road by the shelter, it got worse just within 2 hours. We desperately need fosters for a few days at least until the water goes down, with how quickly the water has come to the road we would not be surprised if the shelter starts flooding overnight. We have a lot of dog friendly dogs and will supply everything they would need for the next few days if you are able to foster. We would need to meet this evening since it may get bad overnight. If you can help please reach out to us ASAP!!!!
*** we are at the shelter right now and will be here forr about an hour and a half if anyone that can help is able to stop down to see if any of the dogs would be a good fit!!!

Have you seen Scruffy? He went missing from the Mounds Motel last night when he got away from his owners who are visiting from out of state. He's 10 years old and has an underbite. Please call 540 761 7751 with information. Thanks for sharing!
