Carly is the smallest pup at 4.6 pounds ❤😍
Today was introduction to the leash.
Socialization is a critical part of the foundation that I am building with these puppies.
Experiencing different situations, allows me to build positive emotional responses and continue shaping them to be neutral in different situations.
They never seen the blower before. I quickly pulled them out of the crates from nap time and went right outside to Steve and the loud blower.
All puppies continued on without issue, but if there was any signs of fear or pulling away, I would worked the puppy through that situation and focused on this 'exercise' to build confidence.
Lunch time nap!
The puppies are crated through the night but also periodically through the day. I want them to learn to settle at any time, whether the house is calm and quiet or busy and chaotic 🐾❤😘
Goodnight my babies that aren't babies anymore!
Sleeping in their own crates 🥰🥰
Pups are 8.3 weeks old.
Playtime after training! I even put some treats inside the ball pit for an extra challenge!
Happy Friday from our pups! They will be 8 weeks old Saturday and I know these next 4 weeks are going to fly by.
I will be introducing obedience commands, doing more socialization, introductions and exposure.
Crate and potty training are going great! They now are sleeping in crates(with doors closed) with no accidents!
New fun things when they came back in from a potty break! They had no issues at all with the new objects!
Using the rain storm opportunity to get the puppies out and expose them!
I interrupt your scroll to give you 10 dogs all full of it tonight! Luna is dragging puppies around playing tug of war, the balls from the ball pit are mostly on the floor too.
But this is life. I love raising these puppies the way I do. I am exhausted and fulfilled and wouldn't have it any other way!
5 more weeks with the pups!

Puppies need to be socialized and exposed to everything possible to initiate a reaction that we can mold and form. Each day I add in something new, which be be boring or fun, an obstacle or a toy. It always varies. I add in sounds and smells too! We have a fear period coming up soon, and I am adding in as much as possible before we get there. Once the fear period hits, things slow down and while we continue with exposure, it is more mindful to make sure no negative responses are conditioned.
I am also 'paying' the puppies for good behaviors as they sit or be still at my feet. I have a clicker for marking and pay immediately.
Puppies had their first bath and blow dry! It was their first time on the table and first time I dremeled their nails without a helper.
Conditioning their responses to be positive and teaching them how to be uncomfortable in the moment.
