Happy day for Sadie our pet if the week a couple weeks ago. She now has a family With a brother to show her the ropes.
Good job Katy and Jesse doing her adoption.
She came here about a year ago with puppies. Her pups went on to one of our partner rescues but Sadie had to stay behind because she had heart worms . She has been treated and today.was her day to shine and she shined herself right into her forever home

FOLLOWING THE DNA TRAIL AS THE PUPPIES TURN
On thanksgiving day we recieved a call about a mama dog that had pups right next to the road and a couple of the pups had already passed away . Instead of going to thanksgiving meals we went to help the pups. Little did I know this was the beginning of some answers we have been looking for , for 3 years.
We got the litter of pups that day but could not get mom but we weren't giving up . We got the pups home and got all the fleas off of them fed them most were bottle babies. 5 total. Thanks to the volunteers Delita and Kim for being here to help us . There was another mama dog there at the location in which the land owner wanted to talk to us about because he knew all about these 2 moms. Yes 1 mom turned into 2 moms both with pups. We were told the other litter was in an old barn . So black friday we went and picked up 3 more pups. Thank you Katy and Jeriod . We did intakes as we normally do and took DNA on each litter. Fast forward a Couple weeks the DNA reports came in ...Wow. to our surprise these pups are siblings to 9 litters we have taken in over the last 3 years. I started digging deeper into to the relative section on the DNA. so amazed at all of the litters that are related and siblings to these 2 litters. Apparently the moms are sisters . We found out there were 3 more pups on site we missed. So we borrowed traps from animal control ( thank you Teague animal control.) and thanks to Kristi Harris we started trying to trap them . In the meantime the land owner said the dogs could live their lives there and we decided to get these moms spay to stop the puppy births. With the help of our vet Hometown Veterinary Service in Teague working with us to get these 2 moms spay we trapped one of the moms and 2 pups. Mom was spay and released back at the old barn. 2 pups came here to the rescue. I finally got the last pup. They were living under a briar vine patch and had little tunnels all thru the vines. Thanks to Kristi Jones Harris we finally got the other mom and she was spay yesterday and is going to be released today.
Back to the DNA. With the 2 litters we just picked up 11 litters total have come from these 2 moms that have gone thru our rescue. Pups we would have never thought related are related . Amazing the story DNA can tell us.
These poor moms were dumped 6 or 7 years ago ! People please get your pets spay/ neutered as you can see how many puppies were born in this condition. And to the people who in good faith picked up the stray pups and when all the rescues were full dumped them elsewhere, before you pick up the pups make sure you have a plan in action for them first with a place to take them.
We got 11 puppies from these 2 moms. This is the last pups these moms will have and now they will live their lives out without having to worry about taking care of pups in the wild.
Thank you to the land owner who is going to feed them and let them remain at his old barn for the rest if their lives .
!
The 11 pups will be available for adoption after they have been spay or neutered. You can preadopt them to make sure you get one of these limited edition last litter pups and they can go home as soon as they are fixed. Which will be in about a month.
We also have an older sister to these pups here who has 6 puppies of her own . And 3 other sisters here that were on the streets of Teague that were fixed before they started having pups. One of the older sisters went to one of our partner rescues in Spokane Washington with her puppies where they were spay/neutered and are in homes now . And of course with this rather large family tree of pups we can always use donations for food, vetting, and transports.

01/14/2025

For the year of 2024 we spent $17,465 on transport fees alone.
That's a lot of puppies that would otherwise be sitting here in a rescue waiting forever for an adopter to come or euthanized or hit by vehicle on side of road or shot by a disgruntled rancher for chasing the cows or eaten by coyotes
It's a small price to pay knowing these are the lucky ones that are in awesome homes thanks to our rescue partners . We look forward to a great 2025 ahead saving lives together.
We can always use donations towards transport fees. If you donate just specify if it is to help with transports

We have no overhead so 100 % of our donations go to support the pups. We also have vet expenses close to the same amount as transport fees .

As always we thank you for your continued support saving these lives together .

Our intakes will.be closed for the unseeable future. We are two times over our capacity . With not enough man power to care for the ones we have here properly. Please don't even ask us to take just 1 . Because we have no place to put even 1 more.
Please consider adopting that is our solution, and if your pets are not spayed this is what happens when you pets are not fixed. That 1 litter you want them to have and that oops litter . Before letting your dog have a litter go to a rescue and see how much work caring for that litter of pups actually is. How much they p**p that has to be cleaned and The cost of the meds they normally need . If you are having a hard time finding homes for them or rescue a litter on the road side please consider putting them on adoptapet.com/rehome that is where we put them .
Until we can get our population down by over half we won't be taking in any more. Thanks for your continued support.

Dear Santa
Hello there, I'm Prince. Despite my royal title, I'm just a regular guy who loves to play, be goofy, and enjoy life's simple pleasures. I may be a bit shy at first, but once we get to know each other, I promise you'll see my friendly, mellow side. I'm also quite independent, so while I'll love our playtime together, I'm also perfectly happy entertaining myself. I'm smart, loyal, and gentle, with a dash of energy that keeps things interesting. I'm looking for my forever person, someone who appreciates my unique blend of sweetness and goofiness. Adopting me means gaining a friend who will always be there for you, making you laugh, and providing unwavering loyalty. With me, every day is a new adventure filled with fun, love, and companionship. So can you help a dog out Santa and find me a person that will.spend time with me . I've been in the rescue for most of my 5 years of life. I deserve a home with s family or person that will spend time with me

Ps the little guy in the picture is oden my little buddy, best friend and sidekick. He's pretty good dog too. If there is any extra room. Can he come too, he don't eat much
