Eye contact! Did you know that looking a dog in the eye is taken as confrontational behavior to a dog that doesn’t know you?? Let that sink in for a sec. We as humans see a dog and go right up in its face and make baby noises. That would make me uncomfortable as a human but especially as a dog that does not speak your language. Did you ever notice how when dogs meet,they sniff butts? Because that is the handshake… so the best way for you to meet a dog? Ignore it!! Yessss ignore the dog so they can approach you and sniff you. Dogs learn by smell. Not sight,not sound first but by smell. We all know you are a dog lover, now you can behave like one. 😉 The dogs will thank you. This spa message has been brought to you by all the nervous dogs out there. 👋🐶🐕‍🦺
