Update on Mia.
Mia is adjusting to her new environment pretty well so far.
She’s still running and hiding but I’ve been able to pick her up and start getting her more comfortable with humans.
we’ve been spending a lot of the day washing and sanitizing everything in her room, and we’ve treated her with a flea medication, along with a de-wormer.
It can feel overwhelming at times to rescue new animals, the showering, changing, cleaning and quarantining the new fur baby away from the other animals can sometimes feel endless and stressful, but at the end of the day, looking at the warm kitten with a full belly next to you makes it all worth it. I wouldn’t trade it for the world
Update. I got two of the 6-7 guinea pigs. I’m taking them home and coming back for the others tonight and tomorrow morning. The ones that are still outside are way more scared now that we got the two. There’s 3 adults and 3-4 babies, the babies look like they were born this week. Everyone send your hopes that they’ll be okay!!
I went to Ohio last week to visit some family!! I made this video of me preparing the guinea pigs breakfast for when I was gone!! I think it’s so so important to take responsibility and care of your animals even when you aren’t going to be around them. Sure my mom (who watched them when I was gone) could have made their breakfast but at the end of the day it’s still my responsibility to make it as easy as possible!! My mom is amazing!! taking hours out of her day to care for the animals when I was gone. From giving medication to deep cleaning cages and running around to make sure all of my babies were all taken care of!! Thank you Dayna Martin for doing such an amazing job looking after the rescued angels!! I know it wasn’t easy!!
Toulouse loves her new dog bed!!!
I don’t think that I’ve updated you amazing people enough on Wrath. When Wrath was first surrendered to Ivy’s Angels he was pretty underweight but after a few weeks of lots and I mean LOTS of food he gained so much healthy weight and he’s finally at a good weight!!! Wrath is such a busy little boy and he NEVER EVER sits in one place but that’s what makes him Wrath!!! I’m so grateful that I have Wrath in my life!!
Sloth LOVES fruit as you can see!!!
Envy is going back to the vet tomorrow. Last time he went to the vet it was for his back leg and he was diagnosed with arthritis but lately his front leg has been hurting him and he won’t put any weight on it. Send Envy all your love and positive energy!! We’re hoping it’s just something small
The boys are enjoying some treats as you can see!! They’re such funny little guys!
I was eating some pineapple and Gluttony couldn’t help himself!! He had to take a piece, Gluttony is such a sweet and funny boy, when Envy hurt his long Gluttony was so worried...he stayed right next to him until he started getting better!! I’m so grateful that I have this little boy in my life!!
Emma and Zoey
I got sent this video of my cats the other day!!! Emma is cleaning Zoey!! Emma and Zoey have such a strong bond!!! Emma got her babies taken away from her when they were really young and Zoey lost her mom when she was very young so Emma takes care of Zoey as if she was her daughter!! Zoey was a stray so she has really bad eating habits and other problems with her weight but shes getting better with lots of diets, It’s been a bumpy road with Zoey because her weight fluctuates so much, so sometimes she’ll be a healthy weight then other times she’ll be overweight but luckily her diets have helped a lot and she’s Healthy besides that!!! I miss my girls but I’ll see them soon!!!
I know a lot of people who think that small animals can’t feel or aren’t as loving as larger animals, which is completely untrue. Small animals are just as smart as larger animals!! Just because an animal is small doesn’t mean they don’t deserve just as much love as dogs and cats get. Try your best to always treat animals with love and respect no matter how big or small!!! Be kind to all kinds!!
Ivy's Angels, an animal rescue run by 14 year old Unschooler, Ivy Martin. Ivy has been passionate about animals her entire life. She became vegetarian when she was 6 and then became vegan when she was 8. Ivy was horrified by the animal agriculture industry. She learned about mills that "raise" animals to sell to pet stores and she became deeply affected by learning about the severe mistreatment that animals receive there.
She decided that she wanted to make a difference and raise awareness about the industry. Ivy has held protests, started social media campaigns, joined Anonymous for the Voiceless to take part in their powerful street advocacy and has rescued many animals that she now takes care of with the love, compassion and dignity they deserve. Ivy has visited the Farm Sanctuary in Watkin's Glen, NY twice and hopes to intern there in the future. Ivy also volunteers at her local humane society taking care of the cats and dogs with her free time.
Recently, Ivy decided to take her growing purpose further and start an animal rescue in her area of Northern New Hampshire. She has rescued animals from local pet stores who were "unsellable" and set to be killed for their uselessness to the store. There are many more animals that need Ivy's help. Thank you for joining our Mission to help as many animals as possible
