Meet Niko. This poor baby has a really nasty respiratory infection. Thank god he has tested negative for distemper, but we have some work to do. Thanks to your generosity Niko has gotten a full work up at the vet. In a few days when he is feeling better we can start cleaning him up, get him sterilized and vaccinated. Thank you again for all your help. Today’s vet visit $25. IV fluids, antibiotics, vitamins and meds $16. Again I could not do this with you guys and I’m so grateful 🐾❤️✌🏻

Everyone meet Nido 1. In honor of the hotel Nido here in Puerto Lopez. They are sponsoring his treatment. Nido 1 has a sedative on board and his journey to being a healthy dog begins. He has tested negative for distemper (thank god) so he will get a medicated bath, his shots, and he will be sterilized. I will keep you all posted. Thank you to Eric and Margarita at El Nido hotel

It’s been a while since I’ve updated on the 9 puppies found. Thanks to your generosity the vets office was able to do their job. Tragically we lost 3 of the puppies a few days into treatment however the 6 survivors are all doing incredibly well now. This is the last of the puppies meeting his potential new owner. 🤞🏼 they will be a match and we will have a happy ending to these pups horrible beginning. Thank you to those that have donated and shared for the care of these 9 puppies. 7 have been spoken for and will be going to their new homes in a few days. They have all responded well to fluids and some good food. They have all be vaccinated, sterilized and dewormed. Two are still receiving medical care. These two critters are the ones left up for adoption. This would not have been possible without your donations and the staff at Dr. Ruben’s office. I will be reaching out to those of you that have donated. We far exceeded our financial goal and will be issuing refunds unless you’d like those funds to be used towards sterilizing some street dogs. Sterilization of the dogs in this community is a necessity to prevent things like this from happening over and over again. At the cost of $12-$20 dollars dogs can be sterilized here in Puerto Lopez. I’m not ready to let this dog go, he’s my BEST FRIEND!!!!!! We’re not there yet, but I question my decisions regarding this creature. He has great days, good days and some bad. Seems like it’s equal parts lately. Monster sleeps most of the time (unless there is food in smelling distance). I think we all struggle as pet owners when it comes time to do what’s best for our furry friends. I am now struggling with a harsh reality that my best friend is dying. I struggle with waiting for the “right” time because is there ever a right time? I think I’ve always tried to be what Monster has needed, and I know I’ve fallen short at times I just hope this is not one of them. My dogs have always let me know when they were ready and this little ass hole is going to be the strong one. This dog is going to be the one to push my strength as he always has. This dog has taught me so much and taken me so many places I know he has one more lesson to teach me. One that I do not want to learn.
