Hurricane Milton is hitting my State of Florida. One would have to be an idiot not to be scared… a Category 5 hurricane is nothing to take lightly (I lived through Hurricane Andrew in 1992). Please say a prayer for safety for anyone in Milton’s path. We are in for a bumpy ride.

I pray 🙏for my family and friends to be safe.
I pray 🙏 for my lovebirds.
I pray 🙏 for my 3 dogs.
I pray 🙏 for my house to withhold whatever comes although it is unlikely to have a direct impact on Miami.
I pray 🙏 everyone survives.
I pray for Hurricane Helene victims too. 🥺

Welcome to our page. 👋 We are a flock of 7 PeachFaced lovebirds living in sunny Florida. Here’s a little bit of info about our species.

PeachFaced lovebirds, also known as Agapornis roseicollis, are small, vibrant parrots native to arid regions of southwestern Africa. Their striking plumage, featuring green bodies, blue tail feathers, and rosy-pink faces, makes them highly sought after as pets. These social birds are known for their playful nature and strong bond with their owners, making them excellent companions. In the wild, they live in small flocks and thrive in dry, open environments where they nest in crevices or take over nests built by other birds.

In captivity, PeachFaced lovebirds require plenty of attention, interaction, and mental stimulation to stay healthy and happy. They are highly active and enjoy toys that challenge their intelligence, as well as spaces where they can fly. Their strong, monogamous pairing habits often result in deep bonds with a mate or their human caregivers. As pets, they need a well-balanced diet, including seeds, fruits, vegetables, and occasional supplements. Though small, their vocalizations can be loud, reflecting their energetic personalities.

I bathed the babies with diluted chamomile mint water today. Sura has plucked Snowbell’s back a bit and pin feathers are commencing to grow… this herb should help with the itching and offer relief.
