Lucky’s new owner called. To make a long story short, she is returning to us. I am happy because I have missed her. I’m told Lucky “bites” yet she was totally tamed when she left. Sometimes bonding happens and sometimes it does not. Can’t wait to see her.

This is MY observation and your opinion may be different, which is okay.

Lovebirds are loyal to their s*x drive. If in the mood, they will mate with whichever male/female becomes available.

True Story: Kiwi and Macho were a pair and had a clutch. Shortly thereafter Raven expressed an interest in Macho and he left Kiwi to be with her (and had a clutch). Kiwi wasted no time in pairing up with Haji (who was alone). Moji almost went for Lucky (but I found her a new home) so he is with Sura BUT Sura really likes Macho so I have to keep my eyes out on those two.

Bottom line: I have 3 pairs and they all appear happy and content.

He needs prayers. He managed to remove this collar and scratched the daylights out of his wound which was almost healed. Still on antibiotics and an ointment but now it’s gonna take longer, much longer.🥹

Answering:

Q) How can you get rid of your bird?
A) Not easy but if it’s rehoming to a loving home, I have peace of mind.

Q) Don’t you love them?
A) Stupid question which doesn’t even deserve an answer so I won’t.

Q) Will you see Lucky again?
A) Absolutely. I also keep in touch with Tickles, Bindi and others

Q) Who else is leaving?
A) I haven’t decided. Ideally no others but time will tell. The noise level is a big factor.

Q: Did you sell her? The mighty 💰💰💰💰💰
A: This question is beyond stupid and personal. But just an FYI: Willow, Buddy and Lucky were given to their new owners as a “gift” and not a penny received from them (I even provided food). Sometimes it is better to give than to receive indeed.

Something to keep in mind: I block stupid people who feel they should tell me how to live my life. My lovebirds are more than loved. Anywhere I rehome is because I am positive they will be loved. If this bothers you, don’t waste my time or yours and block my page. You will do both of us a favor.

It’s hard for me to let go, but when you gotta, you gotta. 9 lovebirds was too much chirping and work. I will miss Lucky. The family that I am gifting her to is eagerly awaiting to meet her this afternoon. Lucky is quite tamed and loves being handled and attention. They will easily fall in love with her. I’m down to 6 and will reduce even more. Not easy.

My beautiful Moji, sweet tempered but still a little bit wild. It’s a great thing he doesn’t bite or attack my fingers but he doesn’t like being caressed. He will allow me to give him a kiss without flying away but that’s about it. I have all the patience in the world to earn his love. My violet beauty still leaves me in awe when I look at him.

In an ideal world, I would have a bird room with as many lovebirds as possible; however, that is not practical. The noise level after 3 pairs is quite significant so - yes - I do need to downsize and soon. Buddy and Willow are up for adoption. Willow bites! And she bites hard. It will take some time to retame her or just get her comfortable with new owners. If you have the love and patience and are in the Miami area, send me a PM.
I want them to have a loving home.

Paid a subscription to an Ai app. Figured I generate a few ‘enhanced’ pics of my peach-faced lovebirds. Although this is beautiful and the colors are vibrant, it failed and looks nothing like a peach faced lovebird. I am disappointed but will the app to have some fun.

Lucky might go live with my Brother in Law. I can’t keep her and Maverick together since they’re siblings, female/male, and I will not take a chance on inbreeding. First we need to see if she gets along with his small flock.

She (Raven’s baby) will have a wonderful permanent home next to her sister, Bindi (Kiwi’s baby). I am very happy they are together. 🥰 Baby has not yet been named but I will know when she has.

I am all too often an impulse buy that can be dismissed when I am too much trouble. They do not understand me, and breed more of my kind, when so many are already looking for homes. They lock me away. Ignore me. Sell me. They don’t see me, they don’t know me. I AM rare. The price tag that is placed on me and my size do not define me. I am the only one of me you’ll ever meet. I do not think I am small. In my mind I am a large bird with a personality and intelligence. I am affectionate. I too deserve a big cage, respect, love, medical treatment, and adoration. I am irreplaceable. You will never find one like ME again. Do not define me by my size, commonness or price tag. I will always wonder why I have lovebirds with such amazing dispositions when I read so much that they bite and are hostile. Out of 9, Willow bit but only when hormonal. Lucky here is amazingly gentle and downright sweet. She wants nothing more than to jump on top of me when I open her cage. This baby was found next to it’s dead siblings on the grounds of a Walmart. As it is a “wild” bird, we can’t find any rescue place that will take him. We were told to set it free in the Everglades but - of course - this baby is helpless and needs to grow. Would anyone know what type of bird this is?
