I don’t know who else has had to manhandle their dog to put a cone on and then expect to push the plastic strip thru the slots to connect it together - it’s ridiculous! Ariya thinks she’s in trouble when I’m trying to put it on, I spend more time giving her treats to reassure her it’s fine - so modification it is, around the neck, connects at 2 spots and boom it’s on!

Took Ariya to get her staples out today but after much discussion decided to take out a few but leave the rest, they believe she’s having a reaction to the staples, they’ve sent home some meds, they have to come out next Wednesday so we’ll see what happens then. Emmy had a reaction to sutures so her spay opening had to be left open and I kept it as clean as possible until it healed, that maybe what happens with Ariya

Ariya update

She did wonderful with the vet and techs, was somber but friendly, they removed 3 masses, the golf ball sized one I knew about, a smaller one not far from the first one, it had abscessed and a third one on her ovaries they found when they spayed her (pic below). No pics of the first 2 masses because they were DISGUSTING 🤢. She won’t relax in the house, she wants to follow me everywhere, so she in her crate in the garage with her blanket

FYI

Rice: White rice is an easily digestible carbohydrate which makes it a good source of energy, when your dog has an upset tummy or if you are feeding an older dog. Brown rice is a little higher in protein and a little lower in fat when compared to white rice.

Brown rice is harder to digest because it’s less processed than white rice

Diabetic dogs should only be fed white rice when needed and not on a consistent basis due to its higher glycemic index which could spike blood sugar levels.

White rice is good for upset bellies, its blandness helps slow stool production and ease diarrhea, and its starch helps bind a dog's stool.

I was contacted this morning about taking a GSD to be rehomed, I am not currently taking anything but I do want to help rehome this girl in any way I can do here goes. Her name is is Harley, she’s a black female GSD, 3 years old, she is spayed and utd on vaccinations, she is located in Missouri.

Excerpts from the owners message:

1. She’s lives on a 10 acre farm. She’s good with other dogs, pigs, cows, chickens, ducks, and cats. She has free range and put up at night in the shop in her kennel.

2. She has a gallbladder issue and has been treated by a specialist in Arkansas. She takes 1 pill a day to keep her from having issues. This has worked for almost 2 years now.

I have also attached a video of her.

If interested in meeting her I can put you in contact with the owner.
