Tricks with Dale Avick
Wed Date: 5/8/2019 - 5/29/2019 From: 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm Cost $85
Trick training is a great way to teach your dog "how" to learn; and it gives you the chance to improve your timing & decision making; builds confidence in the under-confident dog; and channels the energy of over-exuberant dogs into positive behaviors that will delight you & impress your friends.
In this 4-week course, we will be teaching some simple tricks to the dogs. You’ll get to start working on these in class but will have some homework to perfect them and then we will follow up with it the next week, plus learn a new one each week. Maybe you are trying to work towards your trick titles or just want to teach your dog something new this is the class for you.
Tricks are a great way to teach your dog how to LEARN! You can never go wrong with tricks so there’s no pressure to them – all the better for you both to enjoy!!!

Building Agility Skills with Dale Avick
Wed Date: 5/8/2019 - 5/29/2019 From: 2:45 pm - 3:45 pm Cost $85
Agility is not just about teaching your dog to run, jump, climb and weave. It's about teaching the dog to navigate those obstacles at speed and in any environment. In order to do that he needs to fully understand his job with each obstacle and develop confidence and clarity about his criteria. This class will be geared towards teaching your dog individual obstacles and then use it in short sequences. Any level dog is welcome to participate.

Canine Good Citizen / Therapy Skills Course with Linda Greenfield
Thurs Date: 5/9/2019 - 6/20/2019 From: 6:15 pm - 7:15 pm Cost $125
The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. The CGC Test is offered by the AKC and requires dogs to pass a 10 part examination, demonstrating their obedience skills and tolerance to handling and strangers. All dogs who pass a 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. Many dog owners choose Canine Good Citizen training as the first step in training their dogs. The Canine Good Citizen Program lays the foundation for other AKC activities such as obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events.
Therapy dogs are dogs that visit schools, nursing homes, and hospitals bringing a message of love and cheer. They should have proper greeting manners, leash manners and be able to tolerate dogs and strangers in their environment as well as some vigorous body handling. To work as therapy dogs, most organizations require teams to pass an evaluation or pass the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification.
Take this 6 week course and learn the requirements for each of these examinations and hone your skills in preparation for them or just to practice good manners so your dog is welcome in the community. We recommend that you start your training with a S.T.A.R Puppy or Basic Obedience class before taking this class.
Note: There will be no class on 6/6.
