MaxNorman Pet Photography provides beautiful pet photos from the Palm Beaches down to the Keys. The company is named after my 2 cats, Max and Norman.

I started this business to be able to combine my love of photography with my love of pets. I provide on-location, mostly natural light pet portraits. A portion of the fee for every portrait session is donated to a local animal rescue group as well.

I don't often photograph cats professionally. Many cats can be skittish and wary of strangers. I once walked into a client's home to photograph their cat and it immediately ran and hid under their bed.

Fortunately I still get to photograph cats as I have 7 at home with me! I have 4 seniors between the ages of 9-12. Then last year, due to some special circumstances, I decided to adopt the 3 younger cats I had been fostering.

Once a week I get out my camera and try to get a few nice photos of all of them just for fun. Pet parents will know that you can never have enough photos of your pets!

This sweet girl is Ginger. She was rescued from Miami-Dade Animal Services last year by Magic City K9. Magic City K9 works with local prisons to help rehabilitate inmates while rescuing some of the many dogs in our local shelters. She is living her best life now!

Happy Tail! I love sharing stories about dogs that have been adopted from Miami-Dade Animal Services. Hopefully they will encourage and inspire others to adopt from there as well and dispel some of the stigma of adopting from a shelter.⁣ ⁣

Meet Sushi! He was adopted from Miami-Dade Animal Services in April of 2020.

Sushi’s mom, Savannah Alcerro, tells his story:

“I remember seeing Sushi, then Yoshi, at the shelter. Another staff member was telling me how amazing he was, and very potty trained. I decided to foster Sushi and he was amazing. Long story short, a month later I adopted Sushi and he has been the best dog I’ve ever had.

In the last year we have completed his AKC CGC and his Novice Trick Dog title. We have been to countless restaurants, beaches, friends houses, everywhere I go, Sushi goes. We even took two trips to NH, one in the summer and one in the winter.

Many people told me I was a saint or so sweet for adopting a senior dog. I understand how kind that sentiment is meant to be, but there seems to be an implied bias that older, senior dogs are somehow not as good companions. But they are arguably the best. They are calm, respectful, usually potty trained and really everything a working person or family is looking for, just an overall loving and successful companion.

I’m so grateful to have Sushi as my best friend and we plan on continuing to break preconceived notions on senior dogs and show how amazing and well trained a senior, shelter dog can be!”
