Wilmer is at the vet today as he has not been eating well the past few days. He has a cardiologist recheck scheduled for January 16. Today a blood test is being done and check up with our regular vet to check for kidney values. Wilmer is one of our hospice dogs with a heart condition. Donations are greatly appreciated! Thank you.
While we normally focus on seniors, Parvo has been a large issue at our county shelter with dogs being euthanized to avoid cross contamination in the shelter. We recently rescued Chichi and today we welcome Dawson, a 3 month old puppy. He is very sick and is now hospitalized at Miami Animal Clinic. It will be a tough 72 hours as we hope he will survive the first few days. Dawson was adopted from our shelter and returned. Yesterday, another puppy did not make it so we are praying that Dawson does. Donations are appreciated as Dawson is our second dog with Parvo in the last couple of weeks and Parvo is expensive. Thank you!
Chichi is out of the vet and out of quarantine and settled nicely in her foster home. She is doing great! She will need to gain some weight before she can be spayed as she is very thin then she will be placed for adoption. Thank you so much to everyone that helped saved Chichi. We could not have done it without you!
Today we welcomed Rosy from our county shelter. Rosy was surrendered 2 months ago and has dropped a significant amount of weight. She also received almost no medical care during this time. She is at our vet with high liver values. We were able to take in Rosy as a wonderful lady stepped up to adopt her. She already had a blood test, fecal and X-rays today. We hope she will improve but she has a long road medically ahead. She is skin and bones but very very sweet.
Visiting Jackson at vet......
We have just sent in a hold to Miami Dade Animal Services for Jackson, a senior blind fox/rat terrier. We could not let him die today at 4. Donations are needed, we will be taking him to have his eyes evaluated after his regular medical care is done. He is very sweet and no senior dog should die alone in a shelter.
Kiki
Our other Kiki is also in need of a wonderful home. Kiki is the sweetest little girl, absolutely perfect companion. She is 9 years young, fully vetted, including dental. Kiki is located in Miami, Florida.
Our other little guy in this video playing with Fox is Pancho. Pancho has been with us since we rescued him from the shelter. He is in renal failure and almost did not make it. Since then he has rebounded and is doing great. We would love to find an adopter experienced with kidney issues for Pancho. Although we have Pancho listed on all the major adoption sites, we never receive any inquiries for him. Being largely a senior dog rescue means our dogs come with more health isssues and at times we have difficulty finding them a home. If we are unable to find Pancho a great home, he will stay with us but that also means that our costs are higher than other rescues. If you are able to give a wonderful home to a senior little man with kidney issues, please contact us.
Louie playing with toys. A home who will buy him lots of toys is needed for this amazing little man!
Fox is available for adoption. This tiny little man is only 5 pounds and 5 years old and is a tiny bundle of love and playfulness. He loves to play with other dogs so a home with another small dog is ideal. Since Fox is so small a home with no small children is required. Fox can be fearful and needs an adopter that will be a little patient with him. Fox is the black and white little guy in the video. He is adorable, fully vetted (including dental). Fox is located in Miami, Florida
