Taqui Taki found himself at home alone next to his owner who had passed away from a heart attack 😢 When help arrived for the owner, they found him deceased and Taki was taken to Miami Dade Animal Services. Taki was very loved. His owner, Leo, would take him to the park every day. They spent their days together happy and socializing. Now, Taki found himself in a very scary place. A shelter that will euthanize for space or poor health. He is also an older, black dog and those often have very low adoption rates. He caught two upper respiratory infections and was declining fast. Taki showed no signs of aggression to humans or other dogs and wouldn’t even bark in his kennel. Taki is a SWEET boy!! 🩵🩵Fortunately, he found an out-of-state adopter but immediate action was needed to treat his condition.
Thanks to a very dedicated group of volunteers and networkers, IPAW was able to pull Taki to safety and get him the vetting that he needs. Once he recovers, he will be transported to his new home in New Jersey. They are anxiously awaiting to welcome him and give him the life he deserves and has been used to!!

We have some leads now and pray that they are in their FOREVER home soon!! It has been quite the journey but finding their home will make it all worth it. A few years ago we partnered with @nycacc thanks to our friend and dedicated volunteer @adequesada 🙏 This month she pulled these two babies that were left by their owner. They were not adapting well at the shelter, who would 😢, and were in danger of euthanasia. They are safe thanks to her, but we need funds!! On Thursday , Howl and Onyx have officially been released into our care! We are seeking a foster takeover for Onyx (black pup) or even better an adopter!
We had no plan. We just knew Zorro had been at the shelter for 2 days with 3 broken legs and no other help was coming. We had to save him. Everything started falling into place. The perfect surgeon, Dr. Wise. Then Gloria and Paola worked tirelessly to find Grover and reunite them. Zorro started making progress. They had a home ready for them! Sadly, that home fell through right when they were ready to leave boarding. They have been boarded since Jan due to Zorro’s medical needs. Heartbreaking that when they were finally ready for freedom, they couldn’t leave!! We desperately need an experienced foster or adopter for these boys!!! Cinnamon is a sweet girl who loves to play! She has done well with foster brothers, is housebroken, crate trained, and does well in the car! She is spayed and heart-worm negative! She had scapula surgery and is doing better with her limp. It may never go away but it doesn’t affect her quality of life or pose any health risks! She certainly doesn’t let it slow her down 😂 She was very overlooked at the shelter and now we just want to find her the BEST FOREVER home. Last week was really difficult as we had to say goodbye to sweet Ginger. We knew her time was limited but we had hoped for more time with this sweet girl. We spent a lot to buy her 3 extra months of life and would do it all over again. Ginger had 3 great months with her foster mom and knew a life she probably never knew before. A life full of love, fun, good food, and comfy naps.
