NEO A&M Horse Judging Team

NEO A&M Horse Judging Team NEO is known for producing one of the most competitive horse judging programs in the country. Scholarships are available to competitive participants.

The horse judging team is a co-curricular activity which provides students the opportunity to compete in national intercollegiate horse judging contests. The team travels to the Reichert Celebration, All American Quarter Horse Congress, American Quarter Horse Association World Show, and the National Reining Horse Futurity. The team is comprised of students who are interested in learning more about

horses, improving their speaking ability and their decision making skills. In just the past several years the team has been crowned champions in many of the contests they compete in.

We are excited to welcome Carrie Miller to the Norsemen family!

Carrie Miller is from Rockingham county, Virginia, where she grew up on a small, primarily beef operation. She enjoys showing horses, cattle, goats, and pigs. Carrie is well versed in her experiences and we are proud she can share her talents with her team. We can’t wait to get Carrie and her teammates to Miami in August. Congratulations, Carrie!

Help us welcome Jacob Curtis and Clayton Nall to the 2024-2025 NEO Horse Judging team. Both of these boys hail from the Gravette AR, where they were very active in FFA and athletics.
Between their combined backgrounds in showing cattle and rodeo, we know they will use the skills they have learned to excel in the Ag. department. We are so excited for this set of boys futures and more than blessed to have them both on the team. We know they will be unstoppable combination and a fantastic addition to NEO Agriculture!

We would like to welcome Leah Cavitt from Springdale, Arkansas to the team! Leah has had a passion for agriculture since an early age and has been involved in multiple aspects of the industry. The NEO horse judging team is on their way back to Miami from the Spring Sweepstakes contest in College Station, Texas. Before the contest on Saturday, leading equine professinals and horseman shared their stock, facilities and experiences with the collegiate judging programs. We are so thankful for the support of the professionals who shared their expertise with us!

The team had great success this weekend! We are super proud of their hard work and are so excited for the future contests this fall.

Hannah is from Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She has been heavily involved within 4-H and FFA. She has 10+ years experience showing horses and is excited to take this experience to the judging team. She plans to major in Ag business.

The youth horse judging competition is back this year at the Pinto World Championship! Sunday, June 9th the contest will begin at 9 am. in the Ford Livestock Arena. Entries are due May 15th. Another trip to Fort Worth, Texas for the National Reined Cow Horse judging contest was a success! The team was 5th overall, while ranking as the high junior college team! Members consisted of Lauren Bailey, Madilynn Campbell, Katelynn Horn, Eden Moffett, and Andie Byrd.

The NCHA Futurity contest is about to get started. This is one of the more unique contests in that it resembles a judges test when applying to become a carded judge. The students will take rulebook and penalty clip tests as well as scoring and ranking two classes of ten.

Congratulations Madilynn!!

Join us in congratulating freshman, Madilynn Campbell, on being named a National Champion in the Equine Science Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award Category at the National FFA Convention!

In FFA, Madilynn’s Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) involves the raising, training, and sales of quarter horses, a project stemming from her families long tradition of being horsemen & women.

At NEO, Madilynn is an active and impressive student as a member of the horse judging team and more!
