NEO A&M Horse Judging Team

NEO A&M Horse Judging Team NEO is known for producing one of the most competitive horse judging programs in the country. Scholarships are available to competitive participants.

The horse judging team is a co-curricular activity which provides students the opportunity to compete in national intercollegiate horse judging contests. The team travels to the Reichert Celebration, All American Quarter Horse Congress, American Quarter Horse Association World Show, and the National Reining Horse Futurity. The team is comprised of students who are interested in learning more about

horses, improving their speaking ability and their decision making skills. In just the past several years the team has been crowned champions in many of the contests they compete in.

BIG NEWS! We have another.

Macyn Olson is from Owasso, Oklahoma. Since childhood, she’s been showing performance and halter horses at the National level. She has been heavily involved in horse judging since she was in the 4th grade, continuing on the family tradition! Not only does Macyn enjoy judging horses through her opportunities with Oologah FFA; but, she has also been raising and exhibiting swine since the 3rd grade, competed in prepared public speaking, and represented her FFA chapter at the National level as a member of their Agricultural Issues Forum team. Macyn plans to major in Agricultural Education down the road, and hopes to make a lasting impact on her peers for years to come!

We are blessed to add this one to the 2025-2026 team. With an impressive combonation of natural talent, grit and horse experience we know Macyn will flourish here at NEO. NEO has a habit of showing up and changing the “norm” for kids & letting them know that this is the BEST place to be. We are grateful for each of them and can’t wait to get them to the 313.

Last week, the NEO horse judging team had a very eventful week- learning and growing stronger as a team! Team members were able to visit multiple clinics hosted by some of the most successful and knowledgeable horseman and horsewomen in the equine industry.

We want to thank Highpoint Performance Horses, Jason Smith, Jerry Erickson, NEO alumni Kelley and Adam Wainscott, Lisa Ligon, and Beth Case for allowing our team to visit. Without generous and dedicated professionals like you teaching us, we would not have the abilities to push ourselves for more in each of our walks in the equine industry.

Thank you West Texas A&M and AQHA for hosting a great Spring Contest!

We’ve got more!

Bryleigh Colbert is from Spring Hope, North Carolina. She has been very involved with her local 4-H program and FFA chapter for 10 years. She has been showing in AQHA since she can remember and has traveled to many national judging contests including: the AQHA Congress, APHA World, AQHYA World, Eastern 4-H Nationals and FFA Nationals. She also spends her time showing market hogs and plans to major in Animal Science. We are pumped to have her bright and bubbly personality and vast amount of knowledge on the team. We can’t wait for each of these incoming freshmen to get to Miami!

Let’s update you all….

We would like to welcome Keeley Brooks to the 2025-2026 horse judging team. Keeley is from Groesbeck, Texas. She has been heavily involved in her FFA chapter throughout high school and middle school. Keeley has been judging horses since the 8th grade. Outside of horse judging, Keeley shows heifers, steers, swine, has been apart of her chapter’s parli pro team, and also presents an 8 minute speech over Soil Stewardship. She plans to be a Pre-Vet major. Keeley was led to Miami from alumni Holly Silvey, and we know anyone taught and recommended by Holly is someone NEO needs to have! We are so thrilled to have Keeley coming to Miami, we know her smile will light this place up!

Adrian Treat is from Coweta, OK. Adrian grew up showing hunters and blesses our team with a true passion for the equine industry. Often belly laughing, Adrian always brings positivity to each contest or trip. Adrian was very successful here at NEO and Is going to continue judging at OSU.

Here is what Adrian’s teammates had to say about her-

Adrian is a radiant presence, lighting up every room she enters with her infectious energy and laughter. Her vibrant personality makes her a magnet for positivity, effortlessly lifting the mood of those around her. She has a remarkable ability to make everyone feel comfortable and valued, turning any moment into one filled with joy and connection. Beyond her lively spirit, Adrian possesses a deep, genuine kindness that shines through in everything she does..

Adrian makes sure everyone feels like part of a something, in and outside of our team. She’s the kind of gal who notices when people feel out of place, and does her best to make them feel comfortable and know they have a friend in her.

Adrian is unapologetically herself. She brings so much energy and joy to our team. I couldn’t imagine our trips without her as our DJ and driver.

Adrian is the glue to our team that holds us together and always manages to make each of us laugh and smile even on a bad day.

We will miss you, Big Red!!! Go Pokes!!!

Now that we are back home from Fort Worth, we have to face the inevitable, that is our current sophomores have competed in their final contest with us at NEO A&M College. With that being said, it’s time we recognize them weekly for their accomplishments, talent and some sweet memories that make them so special to us.

Up first, Autumn Fisher. Autumn came to us from Gravette, Arkansas. While at NEO, she has been a member of Aggie Society, an Agricultural Ambassador, Student Ambassador, Collegiate Farm Bureau member and a ray of positivity on the horse judging team. In this judging season, Autumn was wildly successful and will continue judging at OSU while obtaining a bachelor’s degree.

I asked Autumn’s sophomore teammates to describe the impact she has had on them. They replied:

“She is the kindest person I know. She always go out of her way to comfort others and make them feel welcomed.”

“Not only does she put everyone around her first; but, overcomes and adapts each problem that she faces with grace”

“She is always there to pick someone up. She brightens everyone’s day with her smile and is always there to laugh… even when the jokes aren’t funny.”

“I admire the way she notices the little things about each of us, always pushes for her best and makes each of us want to be better”

Autumn, we will miss you but know you are bound for greatness wherever you go!

NEO had a great day in Cowtown!

Firstly, we want to thank the hard workers behind the scenes to make this opportunity possible. It’s not everyday you get to sort athletes like we had the privilege to sort through.

Last week, we traveled to Fort Worth for the NRCHA judging contest and came home Reserve Collegiate Champions in the combined divison and when sorted out were the High and Reserve High Junior College teams.

We are proud and grateful and already back home working towards the next one. What a great way to start the spring contest season!

We are proud of all of our Top Ten freshmen! We are really proud of all the Ag majors that are Top Ten Freshmen! But, we are super proud of our two that were selected from our judging team. Lauren and Madilynn have shined brightly in their time here at NEO and we know they will continue to light a path for others wherever they go next!

Due to impending inclement weather this week, we will be celebrating our Freshmen Top Ten on February 25th at 4PM in the Calcagno Ballroom. Please join us in celebrating our six Honors Scholars' achievements!
