They say she's as sweet as Sugar, come in and find out for yourself! Sugar (12yr spayed female) is looking for a new forever home. She is very friendly, not on any medication, loves attention, and will happily purr with gratitude. Sugar has experience living with other kitties, and might do well in a home with other animals if introduced appropriately, or would be fine in a home by herself. Just like any cat, Sugar can be shy at first, but warms up in no time, she is a brave girl! If you're interested in Sugar, please reach out to us at (352) 466-0067.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the loss of one of our own. Simon, our gentle senior clinic cat, a kitty who was adopted from us 14+ years ago as a kitten and returned to MAH in 2022 to live out the remainder of his days, passed on September 30th. He had been suffering from diabetes for many years and finally succumbed to septic pancreatitis. Over the last 2 years Simon was the most excellent office kitty and MAH staff is missing him dearly. Our clinic just isn't the same without his loud demanding meows echoing through our treatment area. You may have met Simon if you witnessed him sneaking up to Reception to steal cat treats, or sleeping in an empty exam room. Simon loved cat nip, long walks in the clinic, and sleeping on the doctors' desk. We are all deeply saddened by his loss.

We have some senior kitties in dire need of placement. As many of you may know, one of our clients was placed in assisted living and could not take her cats with her. Our client had a large group of cats that she's had since they were all kittens, after going into assisted living, we took some of her senior kitties, and a friend of hers took a few other senior kitties and has been fostering them since. Due to the foster moving, we will need to take in these additional cats, which means we NEED to find placement for the ones we have, so we can open up space in our clinic for the additional kitties. We have 3 kitties- Sugar (12 yrs), Fats Meow (17 yrs), & Mama (15 yrs), who are all shy but very sweet cats. They all have experience living with other kitties and likely would acclimate to a home with other pets, if introduced appropriately. If you believe you could provide a loving home to one or more sweet senior kitties, please reach out to us at (352) 466-0067 ASAP.

As sweet as could be, Sugar is our kitty of the week, and still looking for a new fur-ever home. Sugar is 12 years old and not on any medication. She is very relaxed and loves cuddle time on the couch. She came from a home with other kitties, we are not sure how she is with dogs, but has a very calm demeanor. Sugar's former owner went into assisted living and her owner was unable to bring Sugar with her. If you believe you could provide Sugar a good forever home, please call or text us at (352) 466-0067.

Do not miss out on a free rabies vaccine for your pets!

Every September we celebrate Rabies Awareness Week. What better way to celebrate than to provide protection against rabies?! Between now and October 19th we are offering free rabies vaccines with the purchase of an annual exam ($59). Please call us ASAP to get your pet scheduled for their yearly physical exam and free rabies vaccines.

In the last year, we have seen an increased number of rabies cases in Marion and Alachua counties. The most effective way to protect your pet is to keep them up to date on their vaccines and indoors. If you suspect a wild animal in your area may be infected with rabies, please contact the Florida Department of Health at [email protected] or (850) 245-4444.

Here at MAH, we offer 1 year adjuvant-free rabies vaccines to cats, and 1 year and 3 year rabies vaccines for dogs. This offer does NOT qualify for pediatric annual exams ($45), only adult annual exams ($59). Last day for a qualifying appointment is Saturday, October 19th, 2024.

Our current Adoptable Cat of the week is Oakley! Oakley is a sweet senior kitty, about 15 years old, and is looking for a forever home. Currently living with a foster, Oakley is a calm and affectionate neutered male, and not on any medication. Oakley's owner was placed into assisted living and sadly could not take her kitties with her. Oakley has experience being around other cats, and has also done well by himself. If you believe you could give Oakley a house to call home in, please contact us at (352) 466-0067.

If you believe you could provide Fats Meow with the lazy life he's looking for, please contact us at (352) 466-0067. This 17yr neutered male lost his home when his owner went into assisted living, with no family to help out. Fats is not on any medication and is very calm and has experience living with other cats.
